From what I understand, Slimer's portrayal in the first movie was an homage to Belushi and his portrayal in the 2016 remake is meant to get back to that

they are actually not con artists. if a a person brings an item in and that item has a value of Say 1000 USD you can not expect them to give the person 1000 USD for that item. a pawn shop is in the business of turning a profit, so they will pay a price that allows them to profit. what would be the point of paying even 80% of the value.

Wyatt Earp was only the most famous law enforcment officer in the wild west days (mid-late 1800s) in the U.S. John Belushi was a comedian and actor who died of a drug over dose. Watch Tombstone to see who Wyatt Earp was or check u tube for videos. John Belushi was one of the early Saturday Night Live comedians who also starred in the Blues Brothers movie and the movie Animal House.

+Alastair Ward And then in America is 100x worse...We atheists aren't exactly treated great - like, some religious people tolerate us and are fine with us to a degree. But their TRUE feelings about us come about in our elections - only one openly atheist out of all of Congress (a few years ago, so they may have lost reelection or maybe more atheists were elected). Poll was done and more people were willing to vote for a Muslim or gay than they were an atheist. Up until fairly recently we were the most untrustworthy in those polls - now the only ones "worse" than us are Socialists. And of course the way our history is taught makes the ultra religious think that EVERYTHING American is intertwined with religion - which is false. Your comment does remind me of my gran. Her father was a preacher, and she was from deep Georgia. A very accepting and somewhat liberal person, but every decoration seemed religious and nearly everything she listened to and watched were Gospel shows, etc.
