"Our rock never dies" - their promise to fans and themselves, they will not give up "Groove / Difficult" - beginning of B-M (difficult, ~10 people came to see them / half of them their friends / tickets members bought) - They were almost at quitting by 2014. "Progress" - ("Thrill" MV in 2014 break out in the West - they realized they had a chance) "Courage" - They took courage to expand to overseas - that's where the fans are "Evolution" - They always strive to improve and change "Always Challenging" - They are always challenging themselves. Kanami keeps giving faster BPM score to Akane. Miku is always challenging to improve her guitar playing under Kanami's tutelage. MISA had bleeding thumbs practicing so much on her bass, etc. "Break through the limits" - it's obvious. They want to break through the limits of conventional J-rock genre and be a worldwide phenomena. ***** If you read the lyrics, they are talking about themselves and their unified desire to be the best and conquer the world.

One of the great things about Band-Maid is that they keep surprising you. They always something new and different in their songs. Daydreaming and Different are almost opposites and I love them both for different reasons. And now this one is a new love as well. Though I will say, Dragon Cries comes close in that classic rock feel. I highly recommend that one. It's also in English!

Miku is the master mind behind Band-Maid. She founded the band and created their image. Besides rhythm guitar and backing vocals, she also writes their lyrics and initial vocal arrangements. On top of that she designs their maid outfits, has input into the artwork, and is the business end of the band. No Miku, no Band-Maid.

I first heard it a few hours ago and was immediately hooked. They're my favorite band anyway, but this track is something special. Well, I mean, they all kind of are lol. But just when you think you've heard the best, they hit another home run.

I'd suggest listening to FREEDOM live (Feb 14 2020) or Domination from the same show. Also, their first really big song THRILL is really good too. Welcome to the pigeon hole, Kate!

I think those that have been following them for a while will recognize the story of their journey and declaration of where they are headed from this point, in both the music and lyrics of the song. There are also many Easter eggs in the lyrics and video itself... older songs, MVs, album covers... In the Limited Pressing edition of the album, this song appears on both the “Roots” and “Progress / Evolution” CDs. Once again reinforcing the music and lyrics of the song. It’s a storytelling and message.

Its interesting that both Daydreaming and Different that you mentioned including this, are not their usual fast-paced hard rock with crunchy riffs. In terms of stuff they do, BM has done a good thing early in their careers by setting a sound that doesn’t restrict itself to any particular genre. Rock is just the foundation while everything else are elements to be used. I’m sure they’ll add a lot more than pop, metal, Jazz, funk and blues in the future and I’m excited for it.

This was such a groovy song for real! You can easily just groove to this for hours! And yes, Miku was killing it in this song! This song was absolutely amazing. Lyrics were awesome as well! Solo was FANTASTIC!

Ok, just finished going down the rabbit hole that is Band Maid. It's like going into Baskin and Robins, so many flavors to choose from, then buying 5 gallons of your favorite one and then plunge your face into it. Sensory overload, but oh so sweet.

This is a killer groovy track reminiscent of The Dragon Cries. You are correct the new album is amazing! On first listen I was blown away by the song Chemical Reaction. When they get a chance to play this song in front of a live crowd it is likely to cause an earthquake!!! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂

That outro though!!! The chopped piano and nylon string guitar sample!!! I can never get enough Pidgeon in my life!!! The fact she got so much to do in this song just goes to show how much she's grown as an overall musician. Kanami's guitar playing never ceases to astonish. As well as Saiki, Misa, and Akane. You aslo need to check out Freedom, Domination, and Blooming!

You’ve just scratched the surface with Band Maid and you will find that all their songs slay. FYI, Miku founded the band and was the original lead vocalist and has written the lyrics from their 4th album onward. Early on, Miku realized her voice didn’t have the power to achieve the sound envisioned, so she recruited Saiki, who is an amazingly gifted vocalist with a powerful voice. In an interview, Miku & Kanami stated that this upcoming album is a throwback to their original sound of the early albums. In the older great songs “Thrill”, “Freezer”, & “Arcadia Girl”, Miku does a lot more singing. Miku has become very competent on guitar, which is amazing considering she never touched a guitar until 2014. You can’t go wrong reviewing any Band Maid songs.

It was last year that I accidentally discovered "Band maid " on my phone. What I really like the most about this band is that they play as a unit. Their tonal quality of music is premium with highest energy and the best part is that , all girls play with their hands. No gimmic of electronic music support. To me Miku is the real deal because she really creates more depth in the vocal section in such a light and fun way. I wonder who really composes their songs . I really would like to know the song making process of this band . All their songs are so punchy with a touch of modernity . Manners maketh Maids. And Maids maketh 'Manners'. I love that these lyrics, by Miku, seem autobiographical. They seem to be about her struggle to improve on the guitar, lyric writing, touring, everything. They can certainly be applied to everyone in the band and the process of song writing in general, but seem to fit Miku's journey best. That's how I interpret them anyway. Conquer, little pigeon!

The message is about how far they have come as a band . At least that's what I hear .

Miku has a solo vocal track on the album - Nightingale; not to forget that she is the band’s lyricist. Unfortunately, due to a C-19 spike in Japan their February concert in the Bodokan has been deferred for a few weeks.

I love Kanami's three little up slides in the very beginning. Akane is very methodical here, no show all go! CK, if you like Miku on vocals here check a little older video "Blooming". It's fast and hard but has some of the best harmonies between Saiki and Miku at the breakdown after the first guitar solo then during Kanami's second solo to the end, you'll love it. If you don't subscribe to this channel I'm coming to your house and taking your speakers....... I Will!

Miku has always got the chops, her timbre just hits different. Please listen to "Sayonakidori" from the new album (which is streaming everywhere as of yesterday), Miku is the main vocalist in that song and it rocks!

Miku is insane on the whole album with very unexpected vocal accents. And she has a solo song - Sayonakidori (Nightingale) - again after missing one in Conqueror. Her solo song Is great and Catchy. But Kanami is trying to kill her with some really high and sustained notes.

Great reaction. Band Maid is just phenomenal. They just keep getting better. May I suggest something completely different for you. Russian teen Diana Ankudinova, The Goddess Voice of Nature. Start with Wicked Game. She was 15 when she sang it. She's 17 now. I doubt if you have ever heard anything like her.

So I'm into the beginning of my 50s, and I haven't felt this invested in a band in a very long time. You mention being "proud" of these women - and I feel the same way. In the way I used to discover music in my 20s and really pull for band succeed, I am feeling that for BAND-MAID. They are the way! Rock is Dead. Long Live BAND-MAID!

I think some of Kanami's writing was specifically to push Miku. Regardless, it's nice to see Miku really getting in there, but I must say, this video in particular did nothing to assuage my fears of her secretly being some kind of Bond-esque super villain. Of course, then I'd just wind up applying to be a henchman, so...

Miku is the founder of the band. She used to work in a Maid Cafe in Tokyo and thought the idea of Maids playing rocks would be cool!....So she recruited Kanami (lead guitar) then Akane (drums) who suggested Misa (Bass) whom she knew from her music school. But Miku decided her vocals were not as strong as she'd wanted them to be so they brought in Saik (Lead Singer) who had a stronger voice for the style of music..and the rest is...JUST PURE FUN!!!!

It is miraculous that 5 young women with such god given talent should come together. In Kanami they have a wonderous provider of outstanding songs that their talents can exploit to the full. Saiki is the perfect voice, Akane and Misa the most skilful driving force, Miku, a force of nature just gets better and guitar goddess Kanami' total lack of ego enables the whole to develop. The perfect band unmatched anywhere.
