I get apple, pear, and other fruits on the nose with the Tullamore Dew. Just a wonderful and bright nose. On the palate, I get the darker flavors you mentioned like hazelnut and chocolate and a creamy maltiness as well. The difference between nose and palate are interesting and why I keep a bottle on hand always. Give the Bushmills Blackbush sherry cask reserve a go; I find it's better than the standard Bushmills; very drinkable and very sweet on the palate. It's another one of my go-to Irish Whiskies.

I’m definitely more of a rye and bourbon fan, but if I’m drinking Irish whiskey it’s usually Bushmills.

For people who say they don't know what smooth means, try a nice basic Tullamore Dew. It's basic, not a ton of flavor, and really easy sipping whiskey. For $30 bucks, you really can't go wrong. It's not the 14 or 18 year stuff, but it's a nice simple whiskey that's great for having around the house for friends. Are you going to get barrel accents and tones and massive flavor? no. You're not. If you want the better flavored stuff, you need to go up in price usually to the casked stuff.

Thanks, I agree. Tullamore Dew has certainly grown on me since then. It is one of the better value and better tasting Irish Whiskey.

Try the Busmill Black it has a great smooth finish on the backside ! Much much taster .😊👍👍

My order of preference: Tullamore Dew, then Jameson. I can't stand Bushmills.

This is not meant as a put-down as I like Tullamore Dew. It's a pleasant experience. But if you're a snooty Scotch drinker with a refined palate, Tullamore Dew is going to bore you.

Exactly, plus what matters is how it tastes to you. Some of the better tasting bourbon for me are lower prices products as well. Cheers !!
