Shels should have put the tie to bed at home in my opinion. In complete control of the game but conceded a very poor set piece. St. Joseph’s looked a couple of levels behind and Shels have a very strong bench. Great to get the win regardless after such a long time away.

As a Bohs fan, the second Sligo goal broke me! But fair play to them. About the Galway goal, looks like it came from a foul throw from McCarthy, either refs start to pull him up for his running throws (one foot off the ground) or maybe the rest of the League should adopt the same tactic. Oriel Park: shocking to hear about that young girl being injured. No question but Drogs fans have to be faulted for coming across the pitch. A kid like Billy should be able to go to a game with his Dad without feeling fearful. An Away ban might be too weak, I'm sure you'd agree. Apart from whatever the Gardaí have to do here, a partial home ban or more severe sanction has to at very least be considered. This has to be stamped out asap.

Shows up the change by league of Ireland clubs to European football season has been a joke. Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers aside other countries teams went further in the various competitions. League of Ireland Teams are beaten by teams in pre season beaten league of Ireland teams in European football whilst Irish players are supposedly match fit. Need to look at overall performance and strength and conditioning of the players.
