[IRL] First time flying after 10 years! Liverpool (EGGP) - Blackpool (EGNH)! Piper Warrior III

Finally getting around to uploading all of my IRL aviation content starting with an epic day of flying around the North West of the UK. We take to the skies in Lomac Aviators Piper Warrior III, G-WARW, with Owen as PIC. Initially the plan was to head for Caernarfon (EGCK) but due to weather ended up going to Blackpool (EGNH) for a few touch & go's instead!
Owen is an incredibly talented pilot who is almost finished with his CPL. I learned so much from observing him - as you can see, he's a natural!
Huge thanks to Lomac Aviators for being so accommodating and friendly. If you're interested in learning to fly, they're based at Liverpool (EGGP) and they're an excellent bunch of people, competitively priced & have an excellent, well maintained fleet.

This is awesome brother good work, keep those eyes up learning lots of the sim skills defo help bringing you back in I find. Just soloed for the first time in a C152 C-FPZC, I got a couple more weeks till flight tests etc. we all got learning to do everyday keep it up :D.

Looks like an old Cabair Warrior I used on my way to my PPL . My favourite was the Robin dr 4180 ( uses a joystick) and the warrior 180 - very hard to stall spin, you had to stamp boot in some rudder at the precise moment or it just nosed over and benignly recovered . Happy flying

Hi Matt - this was a really great video, and you're absolutely right about the transition from simming to RL. In many ways I think simmers are probably the toughest students because we sometimes think we know it all, and block out things that are actually really important. I had my first flying lesson a couple of years back and I remember being annoyed at the tutor for telling me about the principles of flight. While it seemed like basic stuff, it was stupid and foolhardy of me to dismiss it out of hand. It really is worth scrubbing everything you think you know, and going into it a-fresh, otherwise you miss so much. That's not to say sims don't have value because they do - I really think if push comes to shove someone with sim experience would have a decent chance of landing a plane IRL without lessons.
