This commercial series is absolutely brilliant. I was two when The Snowman came out, and it made its way to the States when I was still a little girl. This ad series is clearly lovingly made.

Advertising done right! Hard to believe it's been 7 years since the first advert and 19 years since Walking in the Air came out. Still amazing to see.

Just goes to show how little you actually know about this when you read up on it. I was always lead to believe that this was made by the original ‘Snowman’ animation company and, with the music being copyrighted (even though they’ve changed the lyrics) that it cost an absolute fortune to make, so because lots of Scottish landmarks are highlighted in both ads, that the Scottish Tourism Board paid towards it, as it was going to be seen internationally (when why would it be? Given that nowhere else sells Irn Bru?!) It’s actually a true re-creation/homage, made by a team of 6 animators, who whilst obviously very talented, were never anything to do with Briggs. I’ve gone on to tell people my version of what I thought was involved, I’ve now got some explaining to do !! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
