Hi, just a quick clarification. Training runs are exactly that training runs, BUT even when you send your Roomba out to clean it still learns. So even if you dont do training runs a map will develop and keep getting better and better. The point of training runs is to create the maps faster so the Roomba doesnt have to vacuum and learn which will take longer than just learning. I hope i explained myself LOL..
@RobotMasters
@RobotMasters 5 жыл бұрын
Denis Lara Yes you nailed the clarification to the T, had to use training runs to cover the larger space since it doesn’t vacuum aka longer run times. I liked the lidar based Vacs, a quick roam around the space and the maps complete 🤣. Roombas 9 hours later and finally the maps complete 😩

So, how awesome would it be if you could import a map from an old Roomba into the new one? Or if your house is so big you added another robot, and they coordinated cleaning schedules? I'm thinking with IFTTT they get a message from a litter cleaning system and can take turns cleaning around the cat litter box.... too soon?
@RobotMasters
@RobotMasters 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that would be cool 😎. So I use multiple robots, using their strengths to clean different parts of my house at different times. For example I have a Roborock S4 to handle my carpets since it cleans the best on them. I been using the Narwal previously using the Braava Jet m6 for the mopping tasks. Lastly my S6 MaxV pulls double duty handling the hardwood floors and act as a mobile security camera when I am away. It is possible to setup different schedules to make this possible and certain robots allow to schedule specific areas too.

So initiating the training run(s) creates the mapping of the home? Will it notify me when map is complete? Yesterday my S9+ cleaned for 11+ hours!! With recharging in between. I obviously have a very large home. My goal is to get a full map and customize daily cleanings like M-W-F kitchen and main areas, T-Th beds and baths. Is this doable? I really appreciate your videos! So helpful!
@RobotMasters
@RobotMasters 4 жыл бұрын
Yes everything is possible, can have the robot clean certain areas M-W-F. The robot will become quicker as it learns your home. In your case expect 5 full cleaning runs. The 2nd cleaning run should take less, but it sounds like the robot will need to recharge in between. How big is your floor plan? I recommend running the robot during the day with the most light possible. The App will notify you when the Map done. You can also see the progress of the Map in the smart map tab.

With 4 kids there is limited time for allowing the critter free reign of the household and it just keeps going.... and going.... and going ....
@RobotMasters
@RobotMasters 5 жыл бұрын
First of all GREAT question!!! I myself have a little one running around and I know how much time can be limited, had to perform 9 hours of training on the s9 🥺. Anyways it’s a Yes and No question, you can push the Cleab button during the training run, then press the home button to have the robot automatically go home and save the map. Don’t physically move the robot or the map may not be saved. So yes the robot can be paused during the training run and resume at a latter time. Here the kicker though 🤔, once the robot resume it training run it will start from the same spot it started previous not where the training run was ended. So in reality if the robot doesn’t complete the entire training it may only save the portion it has covered. So here something’s I did, run the training run at night with all the light on, needs light for the training ru to work. Or you could run it when the kiddos are at school 😀

Yes I would start over, if the problem persists you can try relocating the charging base. Make sure the floor clear from most obstacles and the doors are all open. Hey robot master. My question is when ever the i7 or s9 get lost or someone picks it up or when ever there is an error and it cant go back to its dock does it deletes the map and you have to retrain it again or if fixes itselft just by putting it back the the charging dock manually?? I am asking that question because i am currently trying the ecovac ozmo 930. And its it's horrible.... if this thing gets lost or something goes worng it starts recreating a new map and it deletes the other map. So it needs to be retrain again ..and thats a pain in the... Daniel Suarez Great question, so that the main reason I love Roombas so much. Once the map is complete and customized it will retain its map regardless if it gets lost, physically moved or gets stuck. The Roomba never will delete its map until you tell it to do so. Roombas are one of the most reliable and easiest to use robot vacuums. I had a Deebot R95 and it looses the map all the time. The only robot lidar based vacuum that you can restore the map is the 360 s6.
