That was a joke based on a joke from their 2001 live album "Iron Lung Comedy Hour Live". The drummer asks the audience "Can you guys hear the guitar? Can you guys hear the bass?" and due to the lack of laughs he had to explain that the bass thing was a "comical way to point out" that they don't have a bass player to which the audience replied with "What?! I'm outta here! I want my money back! etc etc".

man.. i caught this band live in london a few years ago.. that drummer guy.. fuck! lol.. talks to the crowd like tiny little boy voice.. then BOOM!!! rips shit up.. love it
