The quad on the bass drum in the beginning is just so CLIVE. He really played for the song instead of being a showoff. You just knew he could do so much more than he was usually doing. Still one of my favorite drummers of all time. Doing it all on a single bass drum just like Bonham. Much respect. RIP

He played drums with great intensity, strength and pulse. The style is heavier than Nicko who seems to care more about the ornaments.

Iron Maiden have been blessed with two great drummers. I gotta say though I really like what Clive did in Number of the Beast especially. He had a unique style that was half punk half metal. The band had a mongrel to them that was lost when they adopted a more pure metal sound. Still great, just different. Gotta love Nicko though. I think his cheeky personality has had a lot to do with the band's longevity. Can anyone imagine Where Eagles Dare being done by anyone else? Like I said, two great drummers.

Stonkingly good performance. The whole gig was amazing. Really wish that things had worked out differently with Clive. He was their secret ingredient. I often wonder why he never tried out for AC/DC. Given that they parted ways with Phil Rudd in '83, he would have been available. Can you imagine how cool that would have been? Also a shame that Bruce didn't look him up when he did Tattooed Millionaire.

Bruce's voice was so growly, powerful and clear at the same time in the beginning... on Powerslave tour he was already sounding pinched and nasal from over-touring and under-resting. Bandleader Steve Harris and manager Rod Smallwood basically wrecked this band totally. Same thing happened with singer Steve Perry and Journey, ruined a very good thing by hastily cashing in & ignoring the diminishing returns of pushing band members so hard.
