At my wedding, being a lifelong Iron Maiden fan, all the dinner tables were named after Maiden songs. There seemed to be a song title that worked for every group of people. For example, my family were sat at the Prodigal Son table while my wife’s family were sat at the, you guessed it...the bring your daughter to the slaughter table. I’m also an ex-Royal Navy submariner, so my navy mates were sat at the Blood Brothers table...etc etc....It was pretty funny!

Ngl, i would be more than happy to have a Maiden themed wedding. But i feel like it would be extremely embarrassing to have for some reason in the future, im a teen rn and i would be more than willing to have a wedding themed after them but i feel like it would be weird...

Awesome man. It is always great to find an English fan of Iron Maiden. Especially as it seems all of Europe pretends Metal doesn’t exist. I went to the book of Souls concert in Madison Square Garden. What Maiden concerts/ tours have you been lucky to have been to?

I am not a speaker of English but this song seems poetic to me. But can anyone explain the deeper meaning of it ? The meaning of the metaphors 'daughter' and 'slaughter' ? The song is supposedly addressed to a woman. Is that woman told to sacrifice ( slaughter ) her inner girlie self ( the 'daughter ' ) to grow into a real woman - in flesh, blood, and spirit ?

I did not like heavy metal during Iron Maiden's heyday in the 1980's and 1990's but listening to their material several decades on but all of their songs are classics as well as being unique but appreciate their music now compared to the trash that dominates the charts now.

This is the first Iron Maiden song I ever heard. Tribal Radio from the reservation. It’s the only station that I could pick up with a little radio. Silver antenna pointed to the sky in a little valley. The natives had a great late night rock show. Mix of metal, rap, rock, etc etc etc and they could transmit the Signal stronger then the other FM stations. Every night the sign off was Hendrix playing the national anthem.

A Hit of my childhood. Such a scary, creepy, atmospheric and brutal song. I always liked the 1990-1993 period. The first time I heard and saw Maiden when I was 5 yesrs old. It was VHS concert called Raising Hell. Illusionist Simon Drake, magic tricks, Eddie in the face of a real person at least 8 feet tall. Theatrical scenery. Bruce who jump, moves, climbed, and walked on stage platforms. Then I thought: "Wow, here he is a real frontman". Raising Hell reminded me of horror films back then. English has never been my native language. I did not know what Bruce was singing about, but the music made everything clear to me. I saw back then that the band has its own style, and I like it.

Iron Maiden the Gods of heavy metal, or any metal, performs this ever so catchy song with force, fury and extrem passion, like always.....I can´t help it, I just loves the song, as I love Iron Maiden....this is as good as it ever can be !!!

I was at the Birmingham NEC the night when Bruce explained they were releasing this song for abit of a laugh just to try and stop Cliff Richards getting yet another Christmas no 1 lol

G W I’d assumed that’s why it was a bit more traditionally pop (verse, chorus, verse, chorus etc) and football terrace chorus when I first heard it! Yep, it’s not the finest hour but it’s great fun!
