@@pjsin9472 It's funny, Maiden with Di'Anno and Maiden with Bruce have two totally different vibes. As someone on a message board once put it, early Maiden with Di'Anno makes me think of an alleyway streetfight. Maiden with Bruce however makes me think of a knight riding into battle on horseback with a rapier.

The thing with Iron Maiden and a few other older metal acts is that when they do a live show they do a LIVE show. They know people are paying big bucks for a ticket and they do not disappoint. I have seen Maiden over 7 times and each time it got better. I wish acts today, weather it is a metal act, hip hop act or pop act would watch some Maiden videos and get a clue on how to do a concert. "Up the IRONS!"

My man this band has had the same lineup since 1983, the only addition was Yannick Gers who replaced Adrian Smith after he left in the late 90s, he returned in 2000 along with Bruce Dickinson who also left the band briefly, to date they have the same members, originally Bruce replaced Paul Dianno and Nicko McBrain replaced Clive Burr on the drums.

I always find it amusing that even Iron Maiden (Of which I am and I do the same thing without even realizing it most of the time) fans gloss over the Blaze Bailey years in the mid-late 90s. We always phrase it like "Bruce briefly left/Bruce was doing his solo project and came back" and never mention Blaze by name. It's like a part of our brains just goes "Didn't happen!" Even though some of that stuff is really good we all do it.

I saw them in concert in 2008 iirc. They were incredible despite their age. Seen metallica twice as well and they are another incredible act. They just go from song to song for 3 hours straight without so much as a beer break between lol

I have always loved Iron Maiden. I'm curious as to why reaction reviewers chose this song though? In my own personal opinion I don't think it's up there with their best. But most reaction people are doing it. Don't attack me people, my own opinion LOL I love the band. My favorite album, every single song on it, is Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Some guy, we'll call him ASSHOLE, sued Iron Maiden over this song saying he wrote it. It went on for about 15 years and they legally were not allowed to play this song due to Mr. Asshole's lawsuit. Of course that was the period of time I was able to see them. Last time I saw them like a year or two ago, they came out for their encore and FINALLY played this live. I had no idea the evil days of Mr. Asshole were over and I fucking lost my damn mind. Even like 40 years after this recording they still sounded this good.

RIP Clive Burr... 3/8/1957 ~ 3/12/2013... "Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson considered him to be "...the best drummer the band ever had. That's not taking anything away from [present drummer] Nicko. Technically, Nicko's probably a far more competent drummer than Clive. It's just that Clive had this incredible feel, and you can't learn that, and I regret that he wasn't given more time to try and sort himself out."

There are only 3 people who have been in Maiden who are not currently in the band. The original vocalist (the suck), the original drummer and a temporary vocalist for 1 album.

i was trying to work this out - I am 42 and come from a metal/hard rock background but I love rap - they are basically the same, aggressive, loud but not nasty but a similar energy. Always wondered why metal and rap fans had an affinity.

You asked the question, why do they act like this and go crazy on stage. Well here's the answer. I play music myself although I am just a novice and nothing like these guys. What whether you're listening to the music or playing this kind of music it just makes you go crazy brother. It just does. There is no other way to react to this kind of Awesome music. I've seen over 100 concerts of many heavy metal bands from the 80s right on through to now. Once it gets ahold of you it will never let go. Rock on man

In the old days this is called getting your moneys worth. Bands appreciated their fans then. Especially Maiden as they got so little air play and exposure thru the radio and record labels. Nowadays the way they were ostracised if it happened to artists today they wouldn't make it. But 40 years later UP THE IRONS! Maiden did, and were still with you guys. Some of the best metal out there. Metallica was in diapers when they were rocking out. And Bruce I gotta say second best to only Ronnie James Dio. And thats saying someone nothing to be ashamed of by any means. Since I consider Ronnie the best vocalist of all time and genre. I'm sure many would agree. Don't quit just enjoy and rock the fck out, that's what its meant for.
