One of my most favorite songs of all time from maiden. I used to be a runner. I played this on repeat while running. I havent found a song yet that keeps you pushing like this one. No lie. Notice you can hear a cadence with the drums. With every step taken. It's in Paula Radcliffes playlist lol. Shes considered the fastest female marathoner. I'm so glad you did this. It's a special song to me. Partly why Maiden is so special to me. The sheer intelligence and genius of them is astounding.

I like how you talk about Maiden having a distinct sound after the song. I do some DJing from time to time and I love music across all genres, but Maiden was, is, and always will be my favorite for one reason. Given enough exposure to their songs, Iron Maiden is the only band I've come across that I can distinctly pick out one aspect of the band and follow it in the song. I can put on a song and just pick out Steve Harris strumming the bass, or Nico McBrain bring his drumming from the background to the foreground seamlessly. I'm not musically trained, but that, to me, is a gift. I've said it twice, so hoping third time's a charm. It would be really great to see you guys react to the Seventh Son album in the song order, since the songs, although great on their own are linked. I've watched most reactors, and I don't remember anyone ever doing that. P.S. My first Maiden Concert was in the Sunrice Theater in Ft Lauderdale, so it'll be cool to know that you'll be in my old stomping grounds, kinda like completing the circle.

Most of the their songs are influenced from books, movies(like this one) and poems like the Rime of the ancient mariner. Another great movie based song is To Tame a land based on the Dune movie from the 80's but because of copyright issues they couldnt name the song Dune.

When there was no metal on the radio, us long timers, used to find ways. Here in Connecticut we had WNHU metal night .... Friday nights for 2 hours. One night Phantom of the Opera from Maiden’s first album came on & luckily I was recording it on my little cassette player. It was at that exact moment that my whole life changed. I listened to it over & over then took it to band practice the next day. Made my band mates instant fans. That next day I ran down to my local record store to purchase iron maiden‘s first album. They didn’t have it yet but the owner of the store had what was the first release in the States. The iconic “Drifter” EP. So I bought it. It had 3 or 4 songs on it. I was hooked. Then the first album came out a couple of weeks later. I always claim to be IM’s American original fan because of this. Welcome aboard !!

I love Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica, Black Sabbath but there is something about Iron Maiden that makes them better than all of the other bands. I can't quite put my finger on it but ever since I bought my first Iron Maiden album in the mid 80's I was hooked. My first show was the Powerslave tour. I can hum or whistle every single Iron Maiden solo. They're that memorable and melodious. Most songs are written by Steven Harris and Bruce Dickinson. On of their best and often overlooked songs is To Tame A Land. It is based on the Dune book series by Frank Herbert. Herbert was not a fan of metal an did not allow them to title the song Dune. One of the best songs Bruce Dickinson is on their latest album and is called Empire of the Clouds. It lasts over 18 minutes and starts on piano (played by Dickinson). It is different from all of their other songs but still is Iron Maiden.

LoL. so when I got there I noticed an unusual amount of people or hanging around the Colosseum walking and standing so I went to go see what it was about and all to behold the barn "(looks like a huge Barn made of bricks)" doors were wide open people walking in and out there was so many people there they had to open up the rear doors and no one was checking tickets at that time and I was like NO Way Awesome!) so I just walked right in and saw the show. All of your reactions means a reaction to me because I'm also reacting to your emotions when you hear the songs with an open mind and feel the good music, You know to value of all the work that means a music album with well worked lyrics, melodies, guitar solos, the skill of the musicians…Thanks! I have to tell you that If you really want to live a Maiden experience at home, with the phones in your heads…There are 2 albums of them that you need to hear in its entirity: The first one is the 1985 Live album called 'Live After Death' recorded at Long Beach, California and London. It's a Live double that is considered into the best 10 Live Albums ever of Rock, not just Metal…It's a must have to hear because it's a live Maiden concert experience at home. The Second album you must to hear of them from the begining to the end is from 1988 and its called 'Seventh Son of a Seventh Son'. It's a concept album and all the songs are conected in some way though you can hear them separately too. It's another Maiden experience that will blow your minds, really. Out of Maiden I'd like to recommend another full album called 'Brave' from 1994 by a uk band called Marillion. It's a concept album that I think you must have to hear. Good music by good musicians. It's not metal. It's a prog-rock band with a unique style. This album is considered one of the best into the progresive rock music. It was named 4th Best Progresive rock album ever by Prog Rock Magazine. Please be still enjoying the music. Thanks again Cheers!

somehow I also never listened to IM when younger (grew up as a child in 80s, teen in early to mid 90s). I latched on to Metallica through friends and they became the center of my music, along with other hard rock, hip hop and some pop. Somehow I never listened to Iron Maiden, only being familiar with their imagery from the album covers etc. I also was vaguely aware of the 'devil worship' and subliminal message nonsense. Fast forward to 2008 when I was 28 years old and a buddy invited me a concert.I was like yeah why not. Went in expecting nothing, with a false impression it would be screaming death metal (which I'm NOT a fan of)....Well they were 180 degrees different than I expected.... I became a fan that very night from their showmanship, despite not knowing the setlist at all. The few tracks I left remembering were wasted years, run to the hills, fear of the dark and The Trooper because of Bruce's stage antics. Kind of the more maintsream crowd pleasers. I played those and a few others for a few years after, maybe revisiting occasionally and then kind of forgot them for awhile. Well my same buddy invited me to their show again this summer and I'm going, so I just got back into them by playing the setlist which I loved so much its now expanded to everything.... I'm ALL IN. Their catalog is mindblowingly good. I am catching up on 35 years of stuff now just as you are, so its kind of fun to watch these videos from your specific channel.

You know, I've been listening to these songs for over 30 years, thousands of times. Every once in a while I step away from them so I don't get burnt out by them. Watching you guys listening to these songs and your reactions just put a smile on my ole' jaded face. First off, you guys are becoming prolific as hell. In the short amount of time you've made possibly more reaction videos than others that have been doing it for months now. And you're not just sticking to the hits/classics. Loneliness is an obscure song; some call it filler but I wouldn't. That's just too harsh a characterization for this song. So horns up to you for reacting to the obscure material that wouldn't even get played live. Keep doing what you're doing. There's plenty of Metal to react to. Just as an aside, may I suggest you check out Symphony X. They're a Prog Metal band outta Jersey and are akin to Dream Theater. I suggest doing the first to tracks off of Paradise Lost; Oculus Ex Inferni and Set the World on Fire together. Oculus is an instrument that acts like an intro for the next track and both should be listened together. Cheers and raise your horns in praise of Metal \m/

But it is true lol..... Iron Maiden is Steve's Band.... He's the boss, the leader, and the man with the vision.... he started all of it and the game plan.... he's set up the framework and establishment that is Iron Maiden as we know it.... And when it comes down to it his word is the law and he has the final say on EVERYTHING Iron Maiden....

@@TheLegitimateNEILcOOPER All you wrote is right 😉 I follow everything around Iron Maiden over 30 years 😎 With which album have they become world famous ? - Number of the beast. With which album their quality began to fall ? - No prayer for dying With which album they returned ? - Brave new world 😉 And now, follow Adrian Smith career... 😁😁😁

This song is funny in some way, when I heard it first time, I didn't like it, then after few years I started to really enjoy it on somewhere in time's album, then... I fell in love with this song. This short solo is just amazing, like flying jet that was about to fall and he raised just few metters above the ground.
