I heard this song for the first time, about 10 years ago now. And a shiver literally ran down my spine from the song a I just had to hear it again! And then I started listening to their other songs. And I instantly became fan of Iron Maiden. And to this day, Iron Maiden is my favorite band and I've seen them on concert several times! Up the Irons! 🤘

With this song Bruce showed the world what he could do. This was the first single of The number of the beast album released in UK. The way he sings in this song is awesome. My older brother gave me Somewhere in Time right when it came out for my.... 13th birthday I think. I was mesmerized. I almost didn't listen to anything else. Then my fellow outcast buddy, Jason at school threw me a copy of Number of the Beast. And showed me the cover for the original. I went home and locked myself in my room and played this tape from start to finish over and over and over. Next thing you know, everything I owned had Iron Maiden scrawled on it and Eddie was everywhere. Patches on my jacket, stickers, tshirts etc. I was into metal before Maiden but man. I was hooked on maiden. Still am after a half century on this planet.

Drinking beer and smokin dirt weed, in Flower Hill Cemetery. North Bergen NJ. 1982. Me and my buddies partied hard, every weekend there. Always had a boom box, with extra batteries. This song and album, drive us into some wild nights. We're all pushing 60 years old now. Some of my buddies are gone. The rest of us that are left, will always be running to the hills. Respect your youth, you youngsters. And always respect music.

Number of the Beast is one of my favorite Iron Maiden albums of all time. This is their best albums to date in the world. Best lyrics and great guitar riffs. Iron Maiden is one of the greatest British bands in the face of the planet regardless. They have the best music in the world. Plus this song tells history. Plus I wish I can see these guys in person here in St. Louis.

The drumming is awesome, Bruce Dickinson's vocal delivery spectacular and Steve Harris's bass playing sounds like the hooves of galloping horses. He is the GOAT of bass playing.

life is better with good music. not like there's no new decent tunes or everything the 80's spat out was pure gold, just that in 30 years i see this still being played and re-re-re-discovered and current songs will fade into obscurity. then again, rock is about attitude, energy, virtuosity and singularity, so that's just one reason why it stands the test of time.

+Logan Waghorn In terms of metal, the only real metal bands I listen to are British-Sabbath, Priest and of course, most recently, these guys, Maiden. I never knew how good these guys were until I listened to "Flight of Icarus". After that, I was hooked!!! Britain sure does make good metal music!!!!
