About Iron Maiden:
Iron Maiden are an institution. Over the course of 44 years they have come to embody a spirit of fearless creative independence, ferocious dedication to their fans, and a cheerful indifference to their critics that’s won them a following that spans every culture, generation, and time-zone. A story of gritty determination and courageous defiance of the naysayers, theirs has been an adventure like no other.
The band’s immense discography includes the studio albums ‘The Number Of The Beast’, ‘Piece Of Mind’, ‘Powerslave, ‘Somewhere In Time’, ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘The Final Frontier’ and ‘The Book Of Souls’which have spawned many classic hits as ‘The Trooper’, ‘Wasted Years’, ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’, ‘Wasting Love’, ‘Run To The Hills’, ‘Aces High’, ‘Rime Of The Ancient Mariner’ and ‘2 Minutes to Midnight’.

lyrics✓ Beat the warning the sound of the drums Set the beacons afire for them all Call to arms all the men far and wide Have to fight now for dynasty pride at stake The invaders repel from the north Keep out nomads who come from the plains Northern grasslands awash with them all Blocking the tribes that invade from the south of us Rallying round to the call We can hear far away are the sound of distant drums And they need everyone at the wall So the day of our judgement has now begun to fall Survive on ledges bitten in dust Knowledge and virtue is stricken by lust Really believe that they're coming for us Dancing on graves Of those who bled for us Driven away by our endless desire Defeat by anger and our greatest fire Attack again and try as they might Hold them again and see them running Rallying round to the call We can hear far away are the sound of distant drums And they need everyone at the wall So the day of our judgement has now begun to fall Hear them coming - Ready now we wait Must be steadfast - Must be patient Must believe in - That we can win What will save us - The great wall Now under siege have the real strength to hold them now Have to believe that we can repel them Faith in the years our ancestors taught us Have the belief that we can protect the wall Try if they can we will overthrow them Fight to the last they can never own us Battle of wills we'll fight to the last man Honour our dead so they never fought in vain Hold our fortune - Avenge the merciful Hold the great wall - Never fall again Arrows falling - Dark oblivion - Live in spirit - Live to tell our sons Rallying round to the call We can hear far away are the sound of distant drums And they need everyone at the wall So the day of our judgement has now begun to fall

The fact that they can create something of this magnitude 40 years into their career shows what a special band Iron Maiden really is. While many legacy bands just play the usual suspects and stop releasing new material Iron Maiden creates this... They maybe aging but their creativity certainly doesn't cease.

I have been listening to Maiden since about 1990 and had the privilege of seeing them live on their Fear of the Dark tour, been a fan ever since. It took me a few years to catch up on all the stuff pre-1990. This album really has that nostalgic sound from those days but yet sounds new and relevant today. Loving the new stuff. Up the irons!!! Have you ever wondered where your soul goes after this life? We are sinners despite any tiny sins we commit like lying, bad thoughts, or cussing. It doesn't even matter how many good deeds we do because one little sin is bad enough already. We cannot make it up to heaven on our own will. Our God, Jesus Christ, decided to come down to Earth as a SINLESS human and sacrificed His life for our sins. Then He resurrected three days later! Therefore if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you'll definitely have eternal life. Your existence is proof that God is real. Consider this: A creation like you have a Creator. Only in the Bible does it mention that God is the Creator of mankind. God is the only one who can create your body, your organs, your features, your blood, and fingerprints. That is why nobody has the same finger prints nor DNA as you. YOU ARE UNIQUE THANKS TO OUR GOD, JESUS CHRIST! Have a great day!

Dude, that has nothing to w/this & its why comments get turned off (justifiably so). Ppl can be moral & not be religious just as ppl can be religious & not be moral. I’m all for humans having whatever beliefs they need to help them strive want to be better, more humane beings & to give them the mental tools needed to cope w/the awareness & acknowledgement of mortality. None of us will ever know is there’s an ultimate creator(s) or not. But we DO know that for thousands of years most organized religions have been weaponized as highly effective means of population control especially playing upon that primal fear of death, the end of existence, the loss of loved ones, or simply being gone & forgotten. So for those who have to use fear & damnation to gain conformity? Those are cults proliferating true evils which are right here on Earth (human supremacy, misogyny, discrimination, entitlement, arrogance, hate etc)✌️🕊☮️

Wonder if they may have already written and recorded another album since 2019? Had 18 months of not being able to tour so might have thought that instead of sitting around doing and wasting time may as well make the use of the time and do another while still in very rich creative form? Maybe it’s been written already or even recorded then shelved like this one for a couple of years? Either way they definitely have at least one more studio album in them. Nikko is getting on a bit but could be replaced especially as he contributes not a nothing to the writing process. I say when Nikko hangs up his sticks replace him with someone else but the rest are irreplaceable and if any of them leave it’s over

LYRICS Beat the warning the sound of the drums Set the beacons afire for them all Call to arms all the men far and wide Have to fight now for dynasty pride at stake The invaders repel from the north Keep out nomads who come from the plains Northern grasslands awash with them all Blocking the tribes that invade from the south of us Rallying round to the call We can hear far away are the sound of distant drums And they need everyone at the wall So the day of our judgement has now begun to fall Survive on ledges bitten in dust Knowledge and virtue is stricken by lust Really believe that they're coming for us Dancing on graves Of those who bled for us Driven away by our endless desire Defeat by anger and our greatest fire Attack again and try as they might Hold them again and see them running Rallying round to the call We can hear far away are the sound of distant drums And they need everyone at the wall So the day of our judgement has now begun to fall Hear them coming - Ready now we wait Must be steadfast - Must be patient Must believe in - That we can win What will save us - The great wall Now under siege have the real strength to hold them now Have to believe that we can repel them Faith in the years our ancestors taught us Have the belief that we can protect the wall Try if they can we will overthrow them Fight to the last they can never own us Battle of wills we'll fight to the last man Honour our dead so they never fought in vain Hold our fortune - Avenge the merciful Hold the great wall - Never fall again Arrows falling - Dark oblivion - Live in spirit - Live to tell our sons Rallying round to the call We can hear far away are the sound of distant drums And they need everyone at the wall So the day of our judgement has now begun to fall

This might be my favourite Iron Maiden song ever, simply because of it's unique nature. Dark, sinister, heavy, cathartic... it evokes the exact emotions that I want to have from a Maiden song. Just because it's slow and steady doesn't mean it's boring. If anything, they use the slow pace to create a unique soundscape, unlike anything they've done before. Nicko's militaristic drum patterns are nothing but spectacular, and creates a momentum of power that builds throughout the song. I know the song doesn't "break" in terms of pace or energy, but they way it's written, it doesn't need to break. This song is meant to be a slow, moody number the whole way through.

Big, loud, bold, cinematic and fucking HEAVY. This is easily the best Maiden opening track since The Wicker Man.

One of the things I like most about this album is that it comes very close sonically to Bruce's solo work. Fantastic all around!
