My own 20 year old daughter tells me that music today for the most part sucks, she goes to me, dad, you were lucky growing up in the 80's and got to hear great music. She is a Iron Maiden fan and a metal fan in general she went with me to see Iron Maiden live in 2019, we still talk about the great time we had at the show, the only disappointing thing about the show was it ended, we both wanted more.

Iron Maiden ages like premium wine. They are a delight to the ear in a time when music is becoming increasingly empty, simple, and commercial. Up the Irons!

Looking back, I can't believe I almost saw all tours in the eighties 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1988. What a glorious time to be a metalhead! Thank You Iron Maiden for some of the best hard rocking shows I have ever witnessed. One day I was walking in the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam buying a gift for a friend who was migrating to Australia. I passed Steve Harris and two members of the crew (bodyguards?) in that (busy shopping) street. Steve was in the Netherlands because they were recording Somewhere in Time in Hilversum. I spoke to him for a minute or two maybe. I said I passed my English exam with Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Maiden inspired me by that. Awesome man. Great! :)

Hearing this song live at Wacken was one of the most emotional moments of my Heavy Metal life...

Man, whenever I here this song and any iron maiden music... It brings me tears. In 2022 I lost my oldest brother who introduced me to iron maiden. And all the legendary rock groups. RIP Johnny and thanks for the memories! Up the Irons forever! 🤘🤘

In 1986 I was high school student in Cincinnati. Discovering the Somewhere in Time album changed my life. I discovered beauty and passion. It means everything to me, even now in 2023.
