Awesome reaction again! It was my fault that I told you they're playing this summer, you have you go and see them live, you really do. Bruce, the singer, had throat cancer 3 years ago, but he pulled through and still sounds as awesome as ever! They are incredible live even though they're all in their 60's, personally I think the current tour is the best they've done in 40 years! It's a shame your maiden voyage has come to en end, but if you find yourselves with an hour or 2 to spare I highly recommend you watch their flight 666 documentary and then the flight 666 concert, Bruce is a commercial airline pilot and flys the band around in a huge airliner for some of their world tours. Looking forward to seeing what band you choose next, enjoy your metal journey and Up the Irons! Cheers!

Well I feel old now, I remember when this came out . The Number of the Beast album is phenomenal.

I'm a veteran when it comes to introducing outsiders to metal and I find that Prog Metal is the easiest along with classic Heavy Metal. Maiden is perfect, keep going! My recommendation is *Visigoth* . They are a 2010s band that plays classic Heavy Metal and its very catchy, it would be perfect for her. Creature of Desire for a short song, Mammoth Rider to break your necks headbanging and Traitors Gate for cool intro.

Wow, that was long wait:) keep this format, because it's hard to judge band by one song, but you can record all tree reactions together just upload it separately. Can't wait for the next one.

But one thing on the other side... i am a extrem Maiden Fan and an 8 is a really low one for this band who performs their own style for over 30years and still going their own awesome way. You will find very few bands who are so genius but still so grounded like them. Belive it or not... they dont take themself so serious like it seems. They do it for fun these days.... just to make people happy and that is what them make special in these days. Just have fun- up the irons

I am an OOOG heavy metal fan from the old days. I went to every heavy metal/hard rock concert that came to my town back in the late 70's to mid 80's, including Iron Maiden. There is nothing like being at a live heavy metal/hard rock concert.I bet if you got to see them like I did in 1985, you would give them a 10. Nice to see you young kids taking an interest. I would suggest Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame - Live in Tokyo 1984/08/05 Exceptional singer, live, melodic, it seems to tick the boxes.

They are on Tour this year,And nearly non-stop been on tour the last 4 Decades.. And If you guys have a chance To get to any IRON MAIDEN Show.You Should Absolutely Go... They are not in their prime.But The Experience if anything has only become even more Epic. They will not Disappoint . Barring some Freak of Nature or something on that Level.. I saw these guys at sonisphere 2010 in Knebworth uk, they still brought the same energy and passion to their craft and put on one hell of a show. One of the best memories of my life so far is crowd surfing to this song as the solo started to kick in ^_^

This is the 2nd video I watch on your channel (I come from the Nightwish mean comments one), and I still reafirm my initial opinion about the whole thing, BUT, but if your the idea is keeping on this crusade to convert her into a "metalgirl", well... ...I'm sure (so far) that she maybe enjoys way better classic metal stuff than something heavier or an even more extreme oriented sound. You need to see them this tour, I saw the UK leg of this tour, and they sound as good now as they did at their peak. Plus the set dressings are AMAZING.

She mentioned the goosebumps. Years ago when I first heard of bards, I didn't get it. Today though, I do get it. Bruce is a true bard, he makes you feel every song.

Bruce sings very well now after his operation. He had cancer on the back of his tongue which affected his singing for a while. Now he sings pretty much like when he was young.

I have listened to this track thousands of time and it still gives me goosebumps. I’m sure it’s been mentioned, but Rime of the Ancient Mariner should be next on your list, actually just listen to the whole Powersave album and be prepared to go on a journey from beginning to end and get a lesson in literature and history while banging your head Up the Irons 🤘🏼

These guys are still touring and releasing albums as of the last time I checked about 2 years ago. If you want to contrast their old songs against their newer ones and see how much they still rock look up "out of the silent planet".

Good reaction, and I'm happy you've enjoyed Maiden. I like the format. If you want to keep the three songs format but want to change it up a bit, perhaps you can have two or three bands that you do at concurrently, each getting three videos a piece. So, let's say you have bands A, B, and C, then you can do videos in the order of A, B, C, A, B, C, A, B, C. Just an idea if you felt like you want to change it up a bit, but like I said, the format is nice already. As far as where to go from here, since you enjoyed Maiden, I would say perhaps checking out some Metallica or Rush (the former being generally more digestible, the latter being more experimental and kind of geeky but awesome). If you want to go back to Nightwish, then given your tastes, perhaps go with Romanticide (live at Wacken 2013) next. That is a shorter piece that is more fun and thrashy. They have longer grand, epic pieces (similar to Ghost Love Score), but sometimes 10+ minute songs are not easy to digest. If you want another epic piece by them though, Poet and the Pendulum (live at Wembley 2016) is great, albeit very dark lyrically due to the fact that it is was a piece made by their keyboard player, Tuomas, as a means to express and let go of a deep depression he had after the first singer (a childhood friend of his) left the band in 2005. That one is 14 minutes long, but still not their longest piece.

My recommendation is: Blind Guadian - Valhalla live :)

You ought to have Pamela watch the live studio vid of the song Pisces by the group Jinjer...a lot of non Metalheads like that one. Try some Butcher Babies too. Thanks for the 💓!

Bruce Dickinson is an absolute beast!! A sound guy in person too, the band first started playing at this small pub called the cart and horses in 75/76... the place is still kicking and they have what they call Eddie's wall of fame! Enjoyed watching u both again. Keep it up 🖤

This is actually from a concert from the tour promoting the Number of the beast album back in 1983. Clive Burr, the drummer at this gig, died in March 2013 from MS

its good to see you are introducing her to the most expressive, free-ranging genre of music slowly and on her terms not yours. i too am a metal aficianado and a classical music fan,which are basically one and the same since good deal of metal incorporates the classical element. i love maiden too. if she likes classical voices nothing beats nightwish with Tarja Turenen,their original operatic style vocalist. another great female fronted band is Epica full of hauntingly beautiful melodies wth a full chorus and orchestra as backup.

What I think is so incredible about the song is that how it's able to transport you to the person in the cell going to be executed and all the things that is going through his mind at the time before his execution

For my money, the first Thrash metal song is Motorheads "Overkill" from '79. It's all about that double bass drum and speed.. as in Lemmy and his band took copious doses of speed. Maiden is definitely more of a NWOBHM band (new wave of British heavy metal) but they had some fast songs once in a while.

Yup- live at Hammersmith is their best live version. First time I saw maiden they opened up for rainbow in Cleveland, Ohio in 1982.

Some suggestion out of the "standard songs to let metal be known": "Gutter Ballet" and "Chance" by Savatage, "Carolina IV" by Angra, "I Am the Dog" by Nevermore, "Satch Boogie" by Joe Satriani, "Strange Machines" by The Gathering, "Warcry" by Shadow Gallery, "Keep my Grave Open" by Sentenced. You'll have a lot to discuss :)

As you already know that Steve Harris is the bassist written most of Iron Maiden's songs. He is also the founder of Iron Maiden too. In this 1982's live, that drummer is Clive Burr. He played for IM from 1979 to 1982 until Nicko McBrain, current drummer replaced him as their drummer. Sadly, Clive died in 2013 at the age of 56 of Multiple Sclerosis. Right now, Iron Maiden are their "Legacy of the Beast" tour celebrate band's 45 years of music from 1975 to present. I don't think they are retiring like other bands who are either planning or already retire from touring. Jordan, answering your question: they do exercise especially Bruce due his other profession - Airline Pilot. He has to do it in order keep up his flying credentials. During long flights part of their tours, he flies his bandmates, crew, staff, and equipment in a custom Boeing 747 or 757 dubbed "Edd Force One". See their updated videos showing Bruce with short hair due to flight regulations.

In 1982 when I was 12 I saw Iron Maiden and they performed Hallowed be thy name and Bruce Dickinson his voice was incredible he never got drowned out by the instrument and it was just a phenomenal performance of that song seeing them live was better than their LP

Next, give her Priest (JP) .. Live -- US Festival '83 -- Victims of Changes .. She can laugh at the "short" shorts we men wore at the time ..

I've only just started watching your videos tonight, but I think maybe it's a good idea to work on 3 songs for each band at a time but do more than 1 band and sort of stagger them apart. e.g. Disturbed song 1 > Judas Priest song 1 > Metallica song 1 > Disturbed song 2 etc. Just a thought. Maybe there's better ways to do it but, as a viewer, that sounds pretty appealing to me. Many of the reaction channels that I used to watch regularly have definitely lost my interest because of them doing a bunch of songs by artists that I either dislike or have no general interest in, and I feel like you guys are really onto something with the idea of focusing on the artists rather than random individual songs, but it's good to cover more than 1 artist at a time I think.
