I personally like Paul better as a singer, love the lower register and rawness of his voice. I realize personally, he was a mess and they had to replace him and luckily for them it worked out.

Ahhh the memories. Awesome Skyhooks cover. Aussie band from 78. Old School Kicks arse. Saw Di'Anno ages ago in Wollongong at Waves in his own band. When he sung the old Maiden songs the place erupted. RIP Clive Burr. .😪

Paul was punk/grit with a street-wise feel, Bruce is polished/operatic with a penchant for melodrama. I respect the hell out of Bruce's singing ability but I'll take Paul's vocals any day of the week. Case in point? Their first two albums top any Maiden albums put out to date, and Paul was a huge part of that chemistry.

Paul's vocal acute almost near to the final part left me chills, an acute made with such a spontaneity and feeling I never heard, for an ordinary pearson, but also for an ordinary singer, make an acute of this kind is simply impossible, his ability to sing by this way and make that acute is a divine gift, totally love this video, this has been also an epic formation, long live the 80s, forever!

Effin’ love this video! At 1:21 when Eddie turns to the girls, the timing is just perfect with the lyrics, and unintentionally hilarious! The way Eddie turns; the stifiness of his mask, and his hair swaying! Then, the close-up of his silly grim freezing at us is just bonkers! This is the kinda of cheese and awesomeness that only Maiden can give us! Up the effin’ Irons!!

@@micahj9828 yeah, the Skyhooks were well ahead of the times in a lot of ways. They sang about pretty much everything In the 70's and early 80's, including teenagers scoring drugs, casual sex, heartbreak, the gay scene, wanking at the pictures. Nothing was off limits topic wise.

What I really love about this is this song and music in general is that, Iron Maiden took Skyhooks' (1978) version of the song as inspiration and completely changed the sound to what originally sound very rock n' roll or glam rock to heavy metal. In all honesty, there is nothing wrong with taking a song as inspiration, as long as it sounds different and not copied sound by sound.

Big fan of the Skyhooks original. This rocks! The "Iron Maiden sound". First record I ever bought was "The Number of the Beast", the day it was released in 1982. Maiden all the way.
