To be fair Tony would have caught Pepper if she would have willingly let go when he asked. But, since that unexpected explosion made her fall, it caught them off guard and that's why he missed.

Killian and his Mandarin Goons are too op against the suits, they’re basically the perfect counter for Iron Man since not only do they burn through the suit with ease but also have an accelerated healing factor. Interesting to have Iron Man fight against his exact counter

Kilian is the only Villain in Iron Man movies(MCU), didn’t have amor. Iron Man - Iron Monger Iron Man 2 - Whiplash MK 1 & 2 Kilian is the only one that is enchanced and relied on super powers(Extreme heat )

Closely enough. While the head may resemble the classic iron man helmet, Mark 85 is the closest we have to a classic iron man suit. As it may look super technological, it has the correct color scheme and it even has gold on his legs and arms, just like the mark 3 of the classic look of the iron man suit

AviatingTheExtreme Killian would never stand a chance against any of Tonys main line avenger armors the ones he fought with in IM3 were all mass produced untested prototypes whereas The Mark 3 8 50 and 51 where all Amped up Fully tested and fully equipped battle armors that could tank blows from the universes most powerful beings Tony would have literally Ripped Killian apart in seconds it wouldn't even be a fight.

Tony Stark • Unlimited all the others were prototype too. The suit that’s called “prototype” is mark 42. And the suit that was silver that killain ripped apart was mark 16. Which was also a prototype. Meaning all the 30+ suits we seen is prototypes. It breaks apart easily too. Tony finally fixed it in AOU and civil war

@Eagercheetah20 W , I wonder what people not into comic books think are good characters and powers. Comic fans seem to have this hive mentality; they all like what they are told they have to like. Thanos whined too much for my liking. And what was his power? Oh yeah like super indestructible and stuff! Yawn. Killian would rip him apart anyway. Marvel writers can’t make every villain super strong and powerful before common sense kicks in and we could clearly see who would beat who. Thanos wouldn’t stand a chance against Killian. Send him into the Infinity War and the Thanos problem is over.

Cap and winter solider took 7 mins to take down a suit. Hulk took 6 mins to take down a suit, thanos took 4 mins to take down a suit. Killian took out 10+ suits and 1 prototype under 3 minutes. And i fucking know killian would get STOMPED by hulk and thanos. all im saying is tearing through titanium like paper with all the heat is terrifyingly impressive

Cole The Incredible no. He was trying. He was even bleeding at the end of the fight. He used the power stone. And he was punching the suit so hard screaming. The only time thanos didn’t even try was when he fought hulk which ended in seconds. While killian just tears the suit like its paper

Nemenis You’re missing one variable: ALL of the suits Killian broke was prototypes. They weren’t battle ready. If your point is Killian is somehow more powerful than Hulk and Thanos just because they took longer to beat much, much more powerful suits, your point, and your logic is not only flawed, but wrong.

I am not sure Tony would be quipping and making funny faces right after having seen the love of his life and the entire purpose of his character arc whom he dreamt of protecting and living with every single night fall into a pit of fire . Cap and Bucky together were barely able to disable one of those suits (I didn't read the comics; they kinda look the same) in civil war, possibly leaving the battle with some serious internal bleeding, and this non-avengers villain wrecked several of those without losing his smirk.

because the Iron man 3 Suits where untested unfinished prototypes and most of them all where built for specific purposes not all of them where combant oriented it was confirmed half of the armors in this fight where intended to be rescue Armors. if Tony brought the Mark 8 or had the mark 43-85 he's destroy killian in seconds.

This never really made sense to me how is Killian so easily able to melt and burn Tony’s suits when he’s only a fee thousand degrees even the Mark 4 suit withstood Thor’s lightning which even the weakest lightning bolt has 10s of thousands of degrees. I know Shane Black wanted Killian to beat the suits and be defeated by pepper to symbolize girlfriends>work but nerfing Iron Man this badly really makes him seem unformidable, like pencil pusher Killian humiliated him in this fight.

So, by my rough count, Killian takes out at least 4 suits, before he's put down by Pepper, using the same power that Killian has...and Tony somehow thinks that his armor is better than what Killian developed? For someone who's supposed to be one of the smartest guys in the world, that's just freaking stupid.

That's because his ability is flawed. What's good with all that power if you have the potential to overheat and blow up? Tony's suit is way more customizable for any situation. As the MCU progress Tony is made upgrades to accommodate for many of the situations he's been so far

Every terrorist bombing in the movie was actually just people injecting the Extremis and causing them to explode instead of adapting to its powers. There’s also the footage of Killian/AIM testing Extremis on other test subjects, it was too risky for use. You either get superpowers or explode. Also Tony still had a reactor core for a heart during the time so I don’t think his physicality and biology would be strong enough to handle it even if he modified it to be stable

@@sebastiangamboa4586 Then why didn't he? If you watch the fight, Tony tries several times to nail him with his beam, and doesn't. Also, considering the insane ease with which Killian tore apart at least 4 suits (one of them with a single blow), I'm going with Extremis.

@@ronniecosmos8105 Sorry, never saw your comment, and didn't get a notification of it. So, a year later...LOL Killian was a pretty sharp guy. Tony Stark is a freaking super-genius; in fact, I'd argue that he has a super-power, that being his intellect. He could EASILY improve on the Extremis project, making it stable and usable. And let's be objective and realistic here, for just a moment...he would. In any sort of real, even semi-real, setting, he would. The power that Kilian displayed, in trashing Tony's armors, and the contemptuous ease with which he did it, was shockingly effective and impressive. Now, take what Killian was able to make, with his level of intellect, and the results he got, and turn Tony loose on it...?

I know Tony is more reliant on his Mark 42 suit in this film but there wasn't much of a moment throughout the entire film where he wore the Mark 3 suit.
