Customizing the Infinity Saga Iron Monger from Hasbro. This is an awesome hunk of plastic. Lends it self well for paint and custom lights I purchased on Amazon from Briksmax.
2- ice blue LEDS
1 White LED
1 Expansion board
1 power wire / usb / battery --- your choice
UV Resin
Step 1
place figure in HOT HOT water - lay the figure flat on its back... the glue in on two spots inside the torso... the edges have little glue. Leave in for 20 minutes, it may require additional time depending on how much glue was used. Pull and slide apart a the wait.. An inner frame will slide out with he head attached.
Step 2
remove the head and other lips from the torso.
Remove the lens from the arch reactor and drill to install the LED
bend a 90 degree to have it lay flat and attach with UV Resin
ONLY IF YOU ARE ADDING LIGHTS.... THIS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR PAINTING.
Step 2
drill the head, remove the inner white plastic and drill behind the eyes, make a cavity to fill with resin and create a lens.
Step 3
set the ice blue LED in place between the eyes and set with UV Resin... then fill with resin. Polish and fill and gaps or cavity left from the resin.
brush Tamiya X-22 for clear coat. Reassemble the head and test the lights
Step 4
attach the expansion board on the inner frame with double stick tape or glue. Attach the head and leads to the board
Step 5
paint the figure using Vallejo gunmetal paint , add washes of color to your liking......Allow 8 hours dry time after sealing your work
Step 5
drill the right arm for the white LED, use a vise drill with a 1/8 bit
now remove the ball joint and drill at an angle in the ball joint cavity.
Cut a slot for the wire to sit and not get pinched, attach the ball joint and test the light
Glue the LED with UV Resin
Step 6
reattach the arm..... heat only the socket not the peg.... repeat for all limbs
CAUTION ... VERY DIFFICULT TO REATTACH THE TORSO

For me I took out the chest piece painted the white bits blue, took out the white in helmet painted it blue, not as good as led but cheaper

Excellent…. I thought of glow in the dark paint got the eyes,,, but it didn’t glow bright enough… Thanks again for watching

Thank you man. This is great. Even with the 94 breaks showing stupid candy crush and Downey fabric softener ads I hung through it all. Lol this is amazing work. I was already going to paint it then stumbled upon LED!!!!! awesome. Can you recommend the best sealer ? You said Mr. Clear but for this one did you use gloss or what? I never know which to use :( also what's a good brand of UV resin to use? Thank you so much and God bless.

On this one I used Mr Super clear as a primer.. Its a spray plastic... so it make a good surface for paint... I did seal it with a semi gloss from Model Masters.. some people have used a high gloss.. all depends on your vision of the character . For LED is use Lightmybricks.com and briksmax.com , links in the discription . The most difficult part is pulling that shell / torso away from the inner frame, took 40 min... hope this helps--- thanks for watching

Paint is sealed with Model Masters semi gloss… it’s takes a while to dry even with airbrush…

Just a suggestion. You could add LEDs in the hands and still be able to switch them out. All you need to do is use magnets.

Tell me more….. if I set magnets they will block the light. do I wire the magnets to the LED?

@@InkDropCustoms so I did this with my ModoK on his face. I wanted LEDs or an LED on his forehead but I also wanted to swap out faces. I’m a stickler for modifying action figures and customizing but keeping 90 to 100% of its original mobility or play function. So I had to figure out how to do that. What I ended up doing was taking the positive and negative coming from the power source if he will and soldering them to one side of a magnet. Then I put the LED and soldered a magnet to the positive and negative on that LED. Then obviously the LED goes into the forehead. I closed everything up in the plastic shell. And when powers going through it. And I put the face on the body the light automatically goes on since the magnet is transferring the power from one magnet to the other and making that connection.

@@InkDropCustoms now there’s a lot of people that say you can’t heat up a magnet or it will lose its magnetization. That is not correct. There’s a trick to it. That I did a lot of research to find out how to do it. I got the idea from those Magnetic cell phone cables. That one and sticks into your cell phone and the wire can detach. All you have to do is stick the wire onto that connector that’s already on your cell phone and it charges. I don’t know if you’ve ever saw that.? But that’s how I got the idea. I wish I can do a quick video on my phone and post it here but unfortunately I can’t do that then I’ll give you the option.

Yes, holds better and is not susceptible to heat…

Damn it amazing work Those led lights and the paints you added to this figure takes the figure to a whole new level. I really want to commission you for the batman beyond Blight figure I've preordered... Should i buy those briksmax led lights? Will that save in the cost of you wiring up the Blight fig?

Yes , that would save on the cost of wiring… from looking at it will need 10 lights / 2 expansion boards 1 flicker board - and 2 connect wires…5cm and a usb connect wire.. it Will look really cool!

Would I need to prime the figure if I'm going to use alclad metallic lacquer airbrush paints?

Yes, use of any lacquer paints will require primer…….there are different plastics used on the figure…each will react differently when using lacquer directly….Mr Super Clear uv matte makes a good primer
