Welcome to episode one of Iron Stitch!
I’m very excited about this collaboration with Daniela! It was so much fun!
Daniela sent me a wonderful box of “ingredients”. Like the show Iron Chef, the challenge was for both of us to create something using the same items.

I watched every Blessed second of this beautiful stitching, it reminded of when my 1st grandson was born. My daughter made up a story for him called, ‘The Boy with the Red Balloon’and we told it at bed time. We used three exact same words and as he grew he could tell the story himself. As time went on we added different adventures that happened when the boy’s mummy turned around to tie the ballon to the pram and to get different things out of her big bag. The balloon floated away with the boy and that’s when ‘things’ happened…… when the mummy got what she wanted out of her bag, everything was quite normal…… time for her had stood still. As the simple part of the story went on we brought different characters in that the boy had met on his adventures…. a tiny bird with a silver beak, a brown dog with a golden collar and no lead, many others. Those days are a distant but lovely memory…… bright back to me with this lovely piece of needlework.

I tried different kinds of thimbles but as soon as I put them on my brain gets a signal that the finger is unusable. Like when you put boots on a dog 😆

This is really cute and so creative. I'm new to your channel and notice you use a lot of metallic threads. I love the look of them but have not had much success using them. Would you mind sharing the brands you use? I especially like the single strand and multi-colored threads. Thank you!!!

Thanks! I have many different brands. Some were thrifted and don’t have labels. You might like Simthreads brand. It comes in many different colours. I also like the DMC Etoile. Those are cotton with metallic in it. Those are my favourite.

@@cookingjennfer Thank you. I will check those out. I have a lot of metallics from Superior threads, but they are finicky with machine sewing. I might try them for hand stitching along with your recommendations. Thank s again. I'm loving your channel!
