Same here. Gutted they are being demolished. I live in Wolverhampton and u can see them on a clear day from the Penn road and goldthorn hill. How easy it to get close to the cooling towers?

It is a shame! That's pretty awesome that you can see them from so far away! It's going to look bare without them, instead we get more bluddy housing! Telford is going to go from a place of natural beauty to a place chock full of houses! Very easy, but there will be a fence separating you from them (unless you trespass) and you'll be in a wooded area obscuring some of your view 🙃

There is going to be 48 hours notice before the cooling towers are demolished. The end of an era and the end of this colour of tower I think.

Hello, I'm not sure how many of you know, or will read this in time. But the towers are scheduled to be demolished on Friday 6th December 2019 at 11am.

Hi yes I read about it on the fb Shropshire news online. There is going to be a online feed where you can watch it in I think the council website? I haven't had chance to go since I last commented on here to take some pictures of the cooling towers whilst they are still there 😔 I did take photos last year on top of the wrekin in summer but there were too many clouds in the way.
