The next mod on the M140i is ambient lighting! In this video, ill go through the installation DIY process of installing acrylic LED Ambient lighting to your interior! Honestly, this kit changes the whole interior and is 10/10 in quality.

Nice job but as an installer who does thin on a daily basis its better to remove the white connector from the door strips and then drill a small hole to just push the cables trough because where the cable connects is heat shrunk so you wont see it and the hole in your panel wont be as big looks cleaner but overal im impressed

Would u recommend wiring it up with a fuse tap, rather than wiring it directly to the 12v socket wire. Or is there no issue with wiring it to 12v wire. Also if i was to fuse tap is the wire long enough to reach the control module or would i have to extend it

My car doesnt have ambient lightning from the factory. What wire should i tap in at the driver side if i want all 4 doors lighting up and down at the same time?

@@jaja7830 Just a 12v that turns on everytime you put the key in contact just like the window buttons

I will install soon, but in my modest opinion its more easy and simple to install the main box inside of the fuse box that its situated near steering wheel.But any car have diferent installacion.

I know you posted this video a while ago, but I purchased a similar kit from ebay ( they are all the same) and I am having trouble powering them on. I wanted to test the lights out before installing and none of the modules seem to power on when I connect to a 12v supply. Did you ever run into any issue like this? Thanks

Anyway we can get these kits to turn on with the side/main lights only rather than being on cigarette lighter power (which i believe stays on for additional 15mins) Bmw gran coupe 4 series

You didn't mention how you cut the strip? Can you cut it from anywhere or between certain sections?

You can feel the leds when your press on it between each led are 3 resistors best way is to cut between the resistors you can also pull on the black protective paper on the strips with a small needle and then cut it

Hello, i just installed this kit on a F30 with no ambiental lights from factory, but after one week the lights from the passangers seats windows switch won’t work and as well the rgb strip has no power, do you know any solution?( the strips on the passangers doors were wired to windows switches.

Dude please if you can just tell me from where did you got the red head to plug the controller to the cigarette lighter hub, because in the beginning of the video , the wires were naked in the package

Hey brother I saw you powered the LED strips from the window switches which I was afraid to do bc I thought if I did that they will only work when the window switches would be used. Do you think it should be a problem? Or that depends on the car???

Hey man - no so by doing that, it powers up when the window switch lights come on (So at night time, your window switch will light up, which will then also power up the LED strip)

Hi there - it should be the same was as I have done in the video. Door cards go to window switch and central tunnel go to 12v socket :)

HI! If you have wired in your fibre optic lights you can use the same wiring points. If not, then I would suggest using "PRO wiring taps" so you can remove them easier when you sell the car

you can cut it wherever - I cut them in-between the middle of the LED square. You can feel where the LED squares are

Ive installed mine, ive connected live and earth to the cigarette lighter socket but only issue im having is if i turn the ambient light on via the phone app it doesnt turn off when i turn my car ignition off, so basically i just have to use the app to use the ambient lighting,, any way of fixing this so that it comes on with the ignition or when it gets dark with automatic lights??

@@mogames680 yeah i just didn’t connect it to the cigarette lighter i just connected it to the old ambient lighting which is better i believe because it now comes on with the automatic headlights when it gets dark

Yes bro, the main box has Bluetooth, which connects automatically to the door modules

Hi, I've tried this. But my lights stay on with the cigarette lighter socket even after I've switched off the ignition and locked the car. Does this happen to yours as well?

I have the same issue in my F30, it’s the same across all BMWs, I just turn mine off manually with a button that comes with the kit, either that or you could risk wiring it to the ignition or something but I wouldn’t want to cause any other problems or any fault codes
