I don't play AoS at all and barely unnderstand whats happening, but these reports are still so fun just because of you guys!

You can't fool me by painting Cabbage red, I'd recognize that distinctly circular silhouette anywhere. Cheers to Bard for bringing Gordrak, always a fun character, even if when his Mawcrusher's painted green makes them look vaguely like a murderous head of cabbage.

The Idoneth Deepkin are always fun to see in action. Their models are stunning and their playstyle is fun to watch. Plus it's obvious that Spider has a blast playing them. It's been interesting watching new players come in and find what armies best suit their playstyle in sigmar. Definitely helps me as I'm trying to figure out what armies to start with myself.

May not change things but Gordrak can give the same command to up to three separate units in the same phase for one CP. So you all your lovely piggies and the cabbage could have had All Out Defence in the first Idoneth shooting phase. Just so you don't have to worry about saving it in the future.

I really prefer AoS to 40K after you started making these battle reports! My only big gripe with AoS (and would love to hear what veteran AoS players think about this!) is the lack of a Toughness characteristic - a model wounds a rotting zombie just as easily as it wounds a dragon; it seems weird?!

Love the recognition of taking what’s fun over what’s competstive. Love love love the aos content. Id you want fun and a challenge , the kruleboyz just got a lot of points drops and have some decent lists.

Great battle report. A few rules things. The shiver only gives one shark exploding 6s. Also, sharks only get 3 bite attacks unless something is wounded or killed within 6”. So it’s best to start combat with the non exploding guy first (the cabbage died so it didn’t matter in this game). Finally, the lord doesn’t give +1 to hit for mounts. So they hit in 3s not 2s.

As a 40k player no matter how good of a turn I have if I don't know what my opponents units do I'm always nervous. I imagine AoS is similar.

Just FYI, you can use All out defence 3 times with Gordrak, like in Idoneth first shooting phase! :)

Great battle & great job presenting! Love to see the Deepkin on the channel, they're my favourite AoS army. Couple things I noticed, since I know it's difficult to keep the rules straight between several armies and across multiple systems: Bard: The Great Hand of Gork explicitly says the target of the spell cannot move in the subsequent moving phase. Maybe you had something that I missed that overrides this. But given you rolled an 8 on the charge (see 26:42), and you would have had to be more than 9" away in light of the spell placement, not being able to move would have mattered. Spider: As I've seen a few others note, only 1 Shark per Shiver gets exploding 6s, the Akhelian King aura doesn't affect mounts, and the Leviadon could have had a mount trait. What I haven't seen mentioned is that the King's aura does affect himself (at one point you mentioned he only hits on 3s, and disregarded at least one roll of a 2, but he benefits from his own +1 aura). Also, maybe this was just done off camera or the King was too far away, but don't forget about the King's other weapons (ie the falchion, don't think I saw you attack with it), and the deepmare's impact hits and attacks as well (the latter have the same 2" reach as the bladed polearm). Effectively, you saw that the Deepkin have some cool tricks, but it turns out they can hit even harder than you had thought! Love your content, keep up the great work! Also thanks for bringing a Leviadon for the battle; they're just the best army centrepiece.

I love 40k and starting to find interest in AOS. These models are beautiful and the battle reports for AOS seem more interactive. I love it please keep up the amazing work.

really glad to see some Age of sigmar games! i used to mainly play 40k, but after trying age of sigmar about halfway through its 2nd edition i've really gravitated towards it more and more, its now my main game. i just find its much more of a brawl and less of a turkey shoot than 40k. no 72" broadsides or basilisks to blast my orcs off the field lol

not sure if it was mentioned but the king only effects the riders and not the mounts with the plus 1 to hit. All good though. Love seeing you all taking AoS to the channel. Always growing pains with new game systems specially when so used to 40k rules. Cheers

Idoneth Deepkin have rituals that can be used in every game. It's worth remembering that if you have a tidecaster in the list, not only can he be a Gellation champ, he allows you to use two rituals. Using the first and second rituals means turn1 you basically can't be shot, Turn 2 you add 1 to run and charge rolls. Couple this with the king's ability to make units count as high tide in turn 2, you are talking two game turns of fight first and not being shot.

Iron Jawz were my first AoS army. I just wish they had more than three non-hero units.

Haha brutal. Missed some helpful rules in Ironjaws but to be expected with a new army. More important, iron jaws are the premier alpha strike army. You need to out deploy your opponent so you have the choice to go first. There is rarely a reason to run anything other than a Battle Regiment core Battalion for that reason. Tough luck on the dice though as well. But if you let deepkin chose their engagements you’ll quickly end up sleeping with the fishes.

I was thinking of building a small Deepkin force while i wait to see if there's a Flesh eater courts refresh. This game might be convincing me to make them my main army. Seem like a lot of fun to play.

@Spider, when you used the shiver rule at 46 minutes in only one of the allopexes within the shiver gets the exploding hits. Not that I think the orks would have survived but still

The paint work is amazing, fletcher is amazing.

Gordrakk can issue commands to 3 units so in the opening shooting phase you could have all out defense him and the pigs.

Just so you know the turtle is a totem so he can issue commands and has an 18 range. Also,what is the turtles mount trait?? He gets a free one along with the king. His void drums are usually made 150 range.

Id recommend using the App instead of the books to look up warscrolls. For Orcs the Gore-hacka was changed to rend -2. Also if you don't want to run the Pig-alpha-strike list I'd recommend looking into playing the big wagh faction with Ironjaw infantery. The stacking buffs make them really enjoyable

24:47 Morsarr guard redeploy, the unit ends out of coherency. To my eternal chagrin...units of 6 models must be within an inch of 2 other models of the same unit. I know, I get this one wrong too with the guard... if you want to widen up, put two in the back longways, and 4 in the front, maybe slanted: _ _ / / / / or dumbbell it, assuming they can't just snipe out one model. if they can, you wanna avoid this, as they can take out a middle one and get a 3 for 1 --- --- --- --- --- ---

my fav ironjawz list is 3 mawkrushas 2 warchanters and 4 units of 5 ardboys, just big dragons doing all the work globbering everything

Ardboyz should have shields that give them 6+ ward. Every 5 models gets 2 shields and there's no reason to not take them, maybe not a difference in the game but they can be annoying to kill because of it.

There's an old saying, "Difference between victory and loss is one goal." This was such an interesting play out with the armies. I've never seen ironjawz before and had only seen the deepkin once before. More AoS, please.

i prefer the eels over the sharks. i have been let down by the sharks every time i bring them.

Aos seems fun. But insanely hard and unforgiving. You could have one or two bad turns and it’s over.

the player going 2nd gets 2 heroic actions and also gets to pick 2 battle tactics on this battleplan. wouldnt have made much of a difference but good to remember.

This is so weird. Seems like everything in the Idoneth army hits on 2, wounds on 3, has 1 rend and does 2 or D3 damage. That does not seem balanced.

People don't know that, but eating Orcs does go conform with a vegan diet! ^^
