Andy- "please john, give us a word about how you like to brace in the deadlift." -anticipation builds for answer from one of the worlds greatest powerlifters John - "uh, well if i use a belt i just use the belt and then if i dont have a belt i guess i uh just use my whole core. I don't know." Brb, ganna go deadlift 400 kilos now!

You, John hack, andy huang, and Clarence Kennedy are arguably the best squatters in the world! Everyone else is heavy to squat close to 1000 and y’all do it at 200 pound body weights and under that’s crazy!!

just a suggestion, very few people truly understand what screwing your feet into the floor means. Very difficult to understand when someone is wearing pants and you're not actually demonstrating knees flaring out and screwing into the floor. You could make an entire video just on that. Love your stuff thank you very much

Basically approach the bar....set your stance and grip....set your hips back until your hamstrings are tight and your lats are tight...keep your chest up the whole time then just stand up

I like how you start by saying everyone is different. I tried for a long time pulling with the bar in the middle of my feet. I found when I did that I always started my pull to far over the bar no matter what other adjustments I made. Now I start with the bar over the balls of my feet and when I get into position now everything lines up and as I pull I still get the good ol' shin scrapes..lol
@croceaMors13 жыл бұрын
Yeah it all depends on your leverages, limb length and height everyone has to play around a bit and play to their strengths
@SOC-ir6im3 жыл бұрын
Overall most people start with the bar too close,feet too wide and hips too low.
@croceaMors13 жыл бұрын
@@SOC-ir6im completely agree. They deadlift like Brain shaw even though they are skinny and have narrow hips.
@jermaineayivoh82632 жыл бұрын
You are probably a long legs/short torso lifter. When people like you try to deadlift with the bar over the middle of the foot, they have to bend over to such a great degree, that their backs are usually parallel to the floor. This puts people like you in a mechanically weaker position. In effect you are putting yourself into the kind of position that a lifter with short legs and long torso would put themselves if they were doing deficit deadlifts. Stepping back away from the bar a couple of inches and bringing the shins diagonally towards the bar instead of having them vertically upright, allows someone like you to bring their hips down a little bit, but most importantly gets your upper body in a more upright and therefore stronger position. With your new found technique you are probably turning the deadlift into a little bit more of a standing “leg press”. Conversely the leg press will be a good accessory exercise for YOU to improve your deadlift, as mentioned by Eddie Hall.
