Never tell them what the true legal Process is. They will use that against other people and trick them.

I have a spare fixed line and I set up my fax machine to call the number back until I tell it to stop. They answer and hear the tone code. Since they hang up, it redials. If they don't pick it up, it still dials back. Most numbers are disconnected since they cannot call out using that number. Burn!!

"If you EVER receive a phone call like this, PLEASE do your research before you pay anyone!" NO!!! NEVER "pay anyone"! The IRS will NEVER call anybody, they ALWAYS send a notice by mail.

Best thing is to talk very softly so they have to turn the volume up at their end, then blow a whistle right into the phone.

You know it's not the IRS when they answer the phone on the second ring!

Next time act like you are putting them on hold and then "accidentally" turn the mute off as you are speaking with other officers about closing in on their location. Then pretend to put them back on and act like you are trying to stall and keep them on the phone.

Simply give them fake 4 digits of your SSN and ask them to pull up your information! If they can’t, which they obviously do not have, humiliate them and hang up!

We don't have this problem in the UK cos we just slam the phone down, no scam calls for many many years...

I found out for just $5/month. all the scam calls go away. Verizons caller ID service on my cell phone IDs all these calls as scam, potential fraud, or what have you. Sure my phone rings, but I don't have to answer it anymore.

I got one of those posing as Canada Revenue Agency aka CRA, (I am in Canada) I asked in French for a French speaking agent, and they really got miffed. In Canada all federal services are offered in both English or French under the Official Languages Act. I just pretended to not be fluent in English... He said they don't speak French at CRA
