Update "La Royale" brought some changes to the War Thunder, one of them was a buff of IS-2 variants from 1944. In this video I test how one of them (from USSR tech tree) does in battle after these changes.

When I saw they added smoke and went to REspade it without knowing about changes to the armor... I definitely noticed an improvement to it's survivability American 6.7 heavies kept disabling me at point blank range (and god knows what was trying to snipe me) BUT I survived, my teammates helped me out, and I still managed some kills despite my last two guys being a shade away from black It's definitely not my preferred play style but in a defensive role, with at least one teammate to back u up, it is now first spawn material if I'm just looking to hold a capture point

Ye I feel like you can use it as a some kind of a driving fortress if you play it correctly

Why is the Chinese one lower in the BR than the one in Russian tech tree? (6,3 vs 6,7)?

The is2 also got the 471D Wich is the one that the is3 has

I feel like 5.3 is the worst br in ussr tech tree, the t-34-85 is just so average and not good at anything, that you have to be an outstanding player to do well in matches

@@stodoprojects1654 yep...even the is 1 is trash as hell...is 2 (br 6.0) is good but still no armour from front or sides :/

@@zauce1627 use it in reverse while angling can reliably tank the long 88mm shells
