That first "simulator" is more of an art piece than a simulator. You're paying for the aesthetic way more than the actual sim racing hardware. You can absolutely tell they conformed the steering wheel and monitor setup to the chassis design rather than the other way around. Just look at how awkward the steering wheel angle is. Thats going to wear out your wrist super quick. Its a $60,000 piece of art that happens to have sim racing equipment in it.

What I would hate about the $2M system is the total lack of depth perception. I tried something like this in Las Vegas once, and I had no clue how far away parts of the track were. The screen is much further than the closest parts of the track might be. Adding those real wheels to look over into a 2D confusion drove me nuts.

The 60k one was a toy... The 2M one a professional tool. There's a cheaper version of the 60k one, approachable to all (not "luxury", but "luxury tech" is a dumb idea) 20k will get you over 90% of the information provided by the 2M dollar rig. There is a lack of complete research here at the lower end

Doesn't know how to hold the wheel on the sim also doesn't know how to hold the wheel on the real car, win-win. First of all, the latency he is talking is only the motion, for example Qubic claims less than 8ms, so not sure where he got the 50/60ms, maybe for the very low cost motion?!? I had to search, but the Dynisma is a driving simulator, the main objective of a racing simulator is to race.

VR is not strictly better for sim racing, I know plenty of people in my sim racing league that have gone VR, regretted it, and came back to ultrawides or triple monitor setups
@technogov2
@technogov2 Ай бұрын
@@jess_o People using VR, like me, have learned to accept the current downsides of VR because the visual immersion is the next best thing to being there. I have a super ultrawide that I use more often than my quest 3 but only because (PC)VR is not exactly user friendly or efficient, at the present time. I highly prefer VR to flatscreen for sim racing and it will eventually become the standard, IMO.
