Shimano did all the derailers for years on ten speeds(manual bike). This is very interesting. True soft tires for off road. Similar to motorcycle tire choices. More more more please

Very nice review, Red! Looks like a really solid product - maybe time to do a review of a portable bike kit/tool review? 😁 I'm about to convert my old Giant Sedona to a mid-drive ebike to take when we go camping (pop it on the carrier when we hook up the teardrop). Basically using it like you would an old 50 or 75cc trail bike to scoot around the sites and maybe head to town. Sorry to hear about your knee - maybe the ebike will take some of the load off while you get more mobility with your leg (build up some muscle and range). Being a bigger guy, I recommend a nicer saddle (i really like my Cloud-9 seat). Take care while shining on!

Jeff it’s a great subject to vlog, I definitely would want the throttle on a ebike especially when it’s chilly and the old legs are screaming.

Just an FYI on several of the E bikes they are barely water resistant and if you get them wet all kinds of strange things happen especially on the hymway ... Plus if you get one with a hydraulic brake it is impossible to get it fixed

I looked at budget e bikes awhile back but opted to wait and save until I could get a known brand. I ended up getting a Diamondback with the latest generation Bosch motor and it is awesome.

I have a recumbent trike with a Ridekick trailer which has an electric motor and the batteries in it and can push me at 20mph but when pedalling combine I can get it up to 30mph.

Couple of ones i've owned that take a different approach. DJ ebikes makes a good entry level bike with quality batteries. Luna Cycle is a bit more of a maverick but makes some more expensive ones. Rad rover is the giant in the industry as well as Sondors.

Speaking of your new Ram, I saw something about a recall, I think for the air bag, don't quote me on it. But I thought I'd give you the heads up so you can look into whether or not your trucks effected or not.

think one of tools companies would sell one that has interchangeable batteries. go for a ebike ride during the week, and mow the lawn on the weekend with the same battery in your 48v push mower

You have to have disc brakes. The regular bike brakes get eaten up quickly as these are not made for 20 or 28 MPH braking. Any ebike with that type of braking system is a dearhwish. Does that one havve a 12 or 24 volt motor?

thin tires are irrelevant to size of people tire sizes relate to rolling resistance. yeah i want my bike faster than 20 mph my thin tired racing bike 30+ mph. newer bikes have disc stop better than rim brakes especially when wet. i got class 6

Running the bike throttle alone will totally spend the battery. Research into the cost of replacing the battery.

my biggest concern looking at the website is "vehicle quality cells" the most expensive part of most ebikes is the battery (at least hub motor ones, mid drives will be more $) If its not giving a brand for the cells I would stay away. For $999 you could get a radmission and have a bigger more reputable brand for less (it is a single speed but has a throttle to get you to speed). If they change it to "samsung, Sanyo, or LG cells" I would say this seems like a good option though at 1200 with the equipment listed

All of their other bikes say "Samsung Cells" on them but this just says "Li-ion". I emailed them for clarification.

Every class 3 has a throttle. Literally every one. It stops at 20MPH but they all have them.

That's an interesting little exercise. Good to see that Princess Bear is having a good time. E bikes are interesting, and the other thing I'd be interested in is the kit sports cars like the Caterham 7. There is a really nice one I was looking at that was a three-wheel design, two in front one in back, that lets you drive in the diamond lane as a motorcycle without actually having a motorcycle license. The Caterham 7 is of course, fabulous, but you do have to watch out for the guys in the top hats, driving a big old fashioned Rolls, with the sleeping gas umbrellas.... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNdxoJljupebgJs.html
