Is A Grom Really Better?.. Alexis Takes On The Honda MONKEY!

3 жыл бұрынDuring our trip in Tennessee we convinced Alexis to hop on the Honda Monkey and give her thoughts on the glorified Honda Grom. She had never rode it before and it was interesting to hear her perspective as a novice rider.
Right away she felt that it gave off more of a scooter demeanor and overall felt cheaper than the the Grom. The narrow handlebars and taller seat height give the Monkey a more casual riding position that of a beach cruiser.
On her rip through the Foothills Parkway she really got to open it up and wasn't nearly as comfortable as she is on her Grom. She says that the Grom feels way more sporty and better for cornering than the upright scooter style with the Monkey.

Had a Grom (Gen 2) and own a yellow Monkey which I’ve put on Ohlins, Yoshi, shorty levers and a dart screen. Love it. And have a new 2022 black Grom arriving soon too. Love the small bore…mini bikes are so cool and so much fun. Grom has the benefit of being able to have a pillion. Also own “bigger” bikes, a Husky Vitpilen 701, 1993 Suzuki RGV 250, Vespa 300 HPE and an Italjet Dragster 180cc. Enjoy them all for what they are…get what works for you, but Honda reign supreme with this little bikes 👍

Wow, lovely area. So green. Here in B.C. in the part I'm in, green is in short supply in summer. For some reason I'm attracted to Groms. Saw some in the dealer's this morning. Just need some cash to burn! That's in short supply as well, as I just purchased a CRF300L. Thanks for the scenic ride :-)

They’re finally releasing the monkey bike in Canada, VI Honda called me and told me after being on a list for almost two years,can’t wait to see it in person.

Should’ve went to Look Rock tower on the south side of the Foothills Parkway at sundown for the most amazing view!!! No matter, the Parkway has awesome views at each turn!

I think the Monkey is more of a mini bike ,and the Grom is more of a small motorcycle.

hmm strange the Grom kind of look like a Scooter, but the Monkey feels like a Scooter but look like a real motorbike in mini size, good to know :D

The monkey is a lot cooler bike and it it way better quality. That's why it is more expensive. I guess you don't know too much about motor bikes. That's OK the country side was nice.

The monkey has a much more "quality" feel then the grom. Monkeys are faster then groms on the top end. Monkeys are way more comfortable then a grom. I think alexis just has monkey envy and wanted to hate on the bike. I would think alexis who doesn't look to have any butt on her would love the plush, comfy monkey seat over the hard plasticky lookin grom garbage seat. monkey > grom

great review,,, I test rode a z125 monkey and found it more relaxed to ride like a layed back cruiser so I could shortshift and keep the revs low whereas the grom demands full throttle everywhere and revved hard,,, I also found the quality felt Chinese build quality yet build quality looks fantastic so I did expect smoother, the grom definitely wins on that side for me. ps. you're so lucky to live in America,,,, UK is sooooooo borrrrrring. 🥱
