The editing in this video is actually great. That mickey mouse voice about getting stuff in and out constantly was pretty LOL

Thanks for the video. These look interesting but just not worth $20K +. We found our solution in a regular 6 x 12 cargo trailer with a roof vent and two windows installed and some e tracks and shelving installed. It holds all of our gear, a couple of people can sleep in there if they want (I built some moveable shelves that also function as beds for people under 5'10), but we always set up at least one tent. The gear you can buy for camping, like high quality awnings, a big propane cooking range, etc is so much more durable and functional than the little stuff that comes in most RV's. It's a bit of work setting up camp but once you get your routine down it goes quickly. And with the gear always stored in the trailer, your always ready to go. You're talking $5,000 - $9,000 depending on how exactly you want to spec your trailer and how much you spend on your gear.

That’s the way to do it! It’s custom to your needs, less cost, less stress if it gets banged up a little.

Thanks for this video! I've been eyeing getting one of these. We've done all kinds of camping from ground tents, roof tops, to fifth wheel toy haulers. This seems like it'd be the happy medium, plus I also have a roof top tent on my jeep. I really hadn't thought much about the cons, other than the cost. My wife doesn't think these are worth the money but I want to be able to camp in very remote, hard-for-the-average-camper-to-reach places. I think I might try one out by renting it. There's one available on rv trader in our area. Looks like yall had a great time! I really enjoyed your 2x speed talk. Lol! Really got your point across!

My husband and I loved our Nobo. We did not have the toy hauler door so we had plenty of storage in that 10.6. I am in my 60's so it was time for a TT with a bathroom. Climbing down from the rooftop tent was not ideal during the middle of the night. I loved that tent and miss it terribly! Yes, we could have slept "downstairs" but we only did that when it rained! I rate it a 10.6!!

I want a toy hauler to tow behind my SUV with my motorcycle on board. My SUV has a max towing weight of 5,000 pounds, so I want to stay way (way) under that. I’ve talked myself out of the NoBo a number of times, mostly because of the ridiculous cost. I’m back to converting a cargo trailer. I’d rather camp with a backpack/tent from my motorcycle anyway, but having a hard-sided shelter would be great, too. Thanks for your honest assessment.

We use a 6 x 12 cargo trailer with a roof vent and two windows installed. It has a 2,900 pound axle (with all our gear, water, firewood, and two propane tanks, total weight is normally just a little over 3,000 pounds). It really works great. All the gear is stored there all year long. Our SUV also supposedly tows 5,000 pounds but it's NOT a pleasant experience. I've done it with a different trailer and it's just not great. But at 3,000 pounds (with the trailer axle nearly maxed out and a decent amount of tongue weight, it's very easy to tow). Once you figure out your gear, and where to pack it all, it becomes easy to set up and take down. I recommend putting e-tracks on the walls in a few places. And using light duty straps and higher quality rubber bungies to secure things inside the trailer.

I stumbled across the no-bo looking for teardrops and squaredrops, because I got to thinking a small ATV, dirt bike(s) or small snow machine (They make some teeny ones with what look like lawnmower engines on them) would fit in one. Just needed to find one with a back that was one big door. Intech Explore(r) is a squaredrop built for that purpose. Their next size down, the Pursuit, is just big enough to hold an ATV without the roll cage or a small (Say 150 cc's on down) motorcycle or that pesky micro snowmobile I've seen on video. I don't even own an ATV, but I still really like the flexibility offered by making the back wall into one big door. Anyway, I don't think you can get the Pursue with the big door at the back. You kind of convinced me I don't want to be pulling a No-Bo, though. That cross-sectional area of the big, tall, square front of the trailer can't be good for highway speeds. It's not that heavy, so your Tacoma Sport - which probably is rated to 6500 lbs - is plenty strong enough. But on the highway, you're basically trying to pull an 8 foot wall behind you. That's why I'm looking at squaredrops no taller (or not much taller) than my 2012 Tacoma. I also looked at small, custom cargo trailers with that blunt 'V' nose.

Late to the party but it seems your answer is not on the nobo 10.6 the right trailer for you but any trailer at this time is not right for you. I am drawn to this set up as being more mobile then a full size trailer and in return having the benefit of still being a utility trailer on the side or during the week for various roles beyond camping. In addition hauling motorcycles or a quad is a added advantage Good review over all with fair points but I feel it’s not the Nobo that is incorrect for you but any trailer. Thx for the video

Man who prefers tent camping making the case that a camper is more work. Odd. Then again, I feel like setting up and firing up my Coleman stove is less work than messing with propane tanks and hoses. And those slide-out galleys? Keeping it clean would be a real bear. You're going to get food in that hole that's always open whenever your galley's slid out, and getting it spotless before sliding it back in would be a must. I can get (and keep) everything cleaner just throwing my stove on a camp table. Super-easy to keep that clean and keep the food away from the camper. I can see where it would be a pain for a dad, though. If you want the family to go with you to do fun stuff, you've gotta really cater to their needs. Setting up tents for them would be more work, but maybe work that you like more than trying to make a camper seem like home.
@ItsAdventureTime1

You nailed it. I like to rough it out and go as minimal as I can. If I want the family to go and not complain the entire time, it’s a camper or hotel lol

Do you think the larger NOBO off-road trailers would be better option?
@ItsAdventureTime1
@ItsAdventureTime1 2 жыл бұрын
Really depends on what your trying to accomplish and what you consider a good time. Some people like having a portable home with them, some want something in between (that's what this one was), and some want a very basic, quick, easy option. If I were staying in one place for a long period of time I would look at a larger one, but if you are only there for a day or two, it's a lot of work.

That's a great point. In our case, we had just got rid of a regular camper because I hated towing and fitting it into places. We looked at the NOBO as a replacement to a regular camper. Your right though, It's basically an ATV/Rec Vehicle trailer that you can also camp in.

@@ItsAdventureTime1 its funny, cause I used to have a bigger camper, that I too hated pulling and fitting into places. And here I am looking at this.....but I have an adventure motorcycle...so I'm telling myself how great it would be to pull in and go all over the place with my suv, camper, and bike. Tough to say.lol. Thanks for the reply

Same. We’re looking to downgrade from a larger travel trailer as well. We want a safe place to tow/keep all of our mountain bikes for our family of 4. So we’ve been looking at these.

I didn't back in but obviously that means you have to back out. It was a little harry backing out on the beach side because you are backing out into a giant sand pit. Just make sure you are already aired down and have 4WD on. The guys running the ferry were pretty good about spotting me to.

I appreciate your review but you said you like to take everything in a backpack but your time in the No Bo was spent getting item and putting away items etc. I don’t understand sounds like you chose to complicate things by taking too much. Keep it simple and leave all the other items at home.

I’m simple. The wife and kids….not so much. They don’t typically do the backpacking thing because they like having all the extras that I refuse to carry on a trail.
