tarantulas are my number 1 recommendation for anyone with a busy schedule! feed them 1-3 times a week and that's it! no heat or lighting requirements needed. and if you need to go on vacation, they can go weeks (sometimes they will go off food for months at a time on their own as well) without eating and be perfectly fine. quite literally the most low maintenance pet you can have other than a rock. =)

my mom has arachnophobia. when i had my chilean rose hair my mom got more comfortable with her and she slowly but surely started to get over her fear. dont let your family keep you from getting one

I got a tarantula to help get over my fear and I ended up with 7 of them! No regrets at all. I took it slow and would sit and watch him and see what he was up to, watch him decorate and dig and he didn't care at all that I was there. So I got another one, and then another one and so on. They're the best!

I love your tarantulas! I've been wanting one for awhile and after watching this video a few months ago I researched g. pulchripes, and I just bought a sling at a reptile expo today! Which enclosures do you use? I use a plastic tub to house my tarantula so it's not really good for display, but these enclosures are so beautiful ! They really show every side

Hi Ava! Unfortunately I don't know the brand of the terrarium, but I bought them at a reptile expo, should you ever go to one, I'm almost certain they will have them as well :-)

I think handling is a personal preference each owner has to decide for them selves. When I was in grade school I handled my Chilean rose hair dailey, now I wouldnt do it, but it's up to the owner.

Hey there just a few comments . Just to say you're videos are so cool and helpful to me ave had chillin rose in the past they was a great spider. But unfortunately it fell from my hAnd and died when hit the floor.. ave just ordered 3 Tarantulas from a local petshop .the Mexican fire leg... green bottle blue...and a white bird eater . Any tips to give us please much appreciated thanks huni x

I got a 5-inch house spider living with me. It's not pretty, but it's low maintenance. I know, I'll miss it, when I move. I guess if I want a big and pretty spider, I gotta take care of it. Might as well get a cat then.

I didn't want a tarantula until I understood how it felt to be misunderstood. Now I feel like its the only thing that will help me understand myself. I now am actually quite fascinated by arachnids (I think thats how to spell it). Every once in a while I'll hold jumping spiders and just make eye contact. Really curious creatures like us I must say

I really bad want one. My parents said I can get one, but only after some of my fish die or I can find space for one some where. My dad doesn't really want me to get one, but my mom thinks it would be good for me to experience with a varity of pets instead of just fish, cats, and dogs. Anyway. This video was very helpful. Sure, I would love to do that! As you say, there are so many opinions! I will show you how I do it, but remember that often it is the preference of the owner that decides which kind of housing you go with. As long as your snake is healthy and it has the proper warmth, humidity, water and hides, the type of housing can be entirely up to you.

Great video! But i have a big doubt... how do you "Lift them up" when they are in the terrarium... do you lift them up like a dog or just wait until they get in your hand ?? Hi Lola! That's an excellent questions! There are different ways of getting them on to your hand. I prefer poking them ever so gently with a small paint brush, makes them move slowly, and should they turn around an bite, they won't hurt themself. I will do a video on it, it's a great idea! My sister had a bad reaction to my OBT's bite she bit me but it wasn't that bad when she bit her, her arm turned purple we assumed I was dry bit my sister had venom released. SIDENOTE: We don't handle Stardust we were feeding her and she ran out on both occasions and we were tagged then.

My Tarantula Charolette loves to climb up the side of her tank but she slips sometimes is there a way I can make it easier for her to climb ? Also I noticed in the habitats you the tarantula had webs ever mine does do web spinning but not that much is this ok ? She is a curly haired . @ jossersjungle
