Is a war breaking out in South China Sea? Chinese, Philippine ships collide in dangerous flare-up

There has been a dangerous flare-up in the South China Sea with at least two collisions between Philippine and Chinese vessels. Chinese coast guard ships have also fired water cannon at a Philippine supply vessel. Manila is accusing China of harassing and blocking its supply vessels near the Second Thomas Shoal. A defence treaty between the U.S. and the Philippines says the two countries must defend each other if attacked. Is war imminent in the South China Sea?

It’s not even a counterpart! The Philippine vessel is just a PRIVATELY OWNED VESSEL commissioned to just bring FOOD to the other ship owned by the Philippines within its exclusive economic zone according to the UNCLOS (United Nations law of the seas)… in which China is also a signatory.

The Chinese has no legal, historical and moral claim in the area. The Philippines as descendants of Austronesian race has been exploring the area centuries before the Chinese was able to float their own ships. It was the Austronesian that traded with China and not the other way around, hence, the Chinese porcelain in the South China Sea. The early Chinese boats were incapable of going to the deep sea because their boat were flat. The Chinese only borrowed the shipping technology from the Austronesians which are the ancestors of The Philippines and other Asian and Pacific Islanders.

That's because the Bilateral Defense Agreement between the US and the Philippines only states that any armed attacks against the 2 countries will trigger the treaty. Firing water cannons does not count as an armed attack.

Philippines refused to release the fishermen and the fishing boat. Taiwan sent a naval task force to Philippines. Philippines prosecuted the Filipin Coast Guard personnel in the incident, gave the captain family compensation, released the fishermen, returned the fishing boat and Filipino President Aquino apologized to Taiwan on TV. LOL

That area in the video is only within 170 nautical miles from the Philippine mainland, while it is MORE THAN 1000 (one-thousand) nautical miles from China. In 2016, China losses the case against the Philippines, two times, in arbitral ruling based on the UNCLOS, an International law which is also ratified by China before, but eventually Čhína continue violating that law. They obviously don't respect their neighbor's rights, and the International law. For them, might is right. That's how gŕèèdy Ćhińa is. 😠😡

The doctrine of coast guard is different from PN I am a former PN assigned in that area, if there is a theat of invasion or any shasow of foreign vessel in our area we are in a GQ meaning all battle stations are manned and ready, now it may be for a phsychological warfare to avert intruder. In our time foreign fisherman afraid to fish in that area, this doctrine was change by the succession of leadership since it was change by female leader Cory coj. It was in the time of FEM. He is very strict, in his speech, it is very hard to run a government, before he was topple down by so called peoples power backed by geo politics, it was not happened if Philippine politics was not intervene by greedy of power opposition.

I’m Filipino and let me explain something. The difference between the CCP and the Philippines is that we value life. During pres. aquino’s time there was a clash between the filipino fishermen and the armed chinese fishermen. To prevent a high toll on lives between the two. Our government initiated a diplomatic approach to prevent loss of lives and to attain peace withing the disputed area. Fast forward to today, China continues it’s aggression despite is winning the case. Now as I said, our military value life and only use it for defense. We still value the lives of those chinese. China doesn’t value it’s people’s lives. Their people are only a tool of their government. That is sad. We also know their citizens are brainwashed. So they are innocent in this matter. But of course, we will defend what is ours. I salute the brave men in the west philippine sea for being brave. Courage is not the absence of fear but the asssessment that something is more important than fear”. In our case, to pull that trigger and start to lose many lives in the process.
