While greens powders have gained popularity as a convenient and quick way to boost nutrient intake, they may not always be a good idea to incorporate into your nutritional regimen. Here are a few reasons why:
1. Lack of Nutritional Diversity: Greens powders typically contain a blend of various powdered vegetables, fruits, and herbs. However, they often lack the nutritional diversity found in whole, fresh foods. Whole foods offer a wide array of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that work synergistically to support optimal health. Relying solely on a greens powder may mean missing out on the benefits of consuming a variety of whole foods.
2. Reduced Fiber Content: One of the drawbacks of greens powders is that they are usually low in fiber compared to whole fruits and vegetables. Fiber plays a crucial role in digestion, promoting satiety, regulating blood sugar levels, and maintaining a healthy gut. By opting for a greens powder instead of consuming whole foods, you may be depriving your body of the necessary fiber intake.
3. Nutrient Loss: Processing and storing greens powders can result in nutrient loss. Certain nutrients, such as vitamin C and some B vitamins, are particularly vulnerable to degradation due to exposure to light, heat, and air. Consequently, the nutritional value of greens powders may not be as high as that of fresh produce.
4. Potential Contamination and Quality Issues: The production process of greens powders involves sourcing and drying vegetables, which may carry the risk of contamination with bacteria, pesticides, or heavy metals. Moreover, the quality and potency of greens powders can vary significantly between brands, making it essential to choose a reputable one.
5. Cost Considerations: Greens powders can be quite expensive, especially when compared to purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables. While they may offer convenience, they might not be the most cost-effective option for meeting your nutritional needs.
In conclusion, while greens powders can provide a quick and convenient source of nutrients, they may not always be the best choice for a balanced nutritional regimen. Incorporating a wide variety of whole, fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet will offer a greater range of nutrients and fiber, supporting overall health and well-being. Greens powders can be used as a supplement occasionally, but they should not replace the benefits of a diverse, whole-food-based diet.
Thanks Uncle GPT.

The fact you don’t take payment for your videos and reviews makes your content some of the most real info on KZfaq, thanks James. Paid influencers are the most immoral form of marketing we have to put up with these days, it’s actually pretty disgraceful.

It should be the default, although if a genuine and intelligent person were to be sponsored by a product that they liked, I don't see anything wrong. He is selling a fitness program too (nothing wrong with that), which definitely has more credibility if he shows how impartial and unbiased he is.

Unfortunately, attribution in nutritional science is extremely difficult to prove. That’s why you find even peer-reviewed scientific papers with contradicting findings. Olive oil is a good example of ambivalence and contradicting research. We live in a world where influencers can sell anything apparently…never mind AG1, how about dodgy energy drinks 😏👍

AG1 was literally the ad for this video 😂 So happy to see someone finally be honest about this company! It’s also becoming a larger issue on this platform now- where brands like better help and AG1 are everywhere and I’m hoping KZfaqrs catch on that repeating the same ads so many times could hurt their business and engagement especially if these brands a super pricey and not transparent

Ah, you hope for the market-based self-regulation, but no. Ads work, the money is insane and the feedback mechanisms have a very small effect - the voices of the Hubermans and Rogans are a million times louder than that of a James Smith. We would need major regulation for advertisement but that's probably not a popular idea...

Anonymous That’s actually a lie. I read or heard it takes ads like ten times to convince someone or get someone to buy stuff. Ads always work. It’s like no. Some say that and it’s social media or radio etc that benefit from ads. It’s like I’ve heard and seen a ton of AG1 ads. Guess what. I’ve not bought it. If anything it made me scratch my head. It claims to have militaris cordyceps but it doesn’t list which Us producer grew it. And how you grow it with what Ingredients and if you use red and blue light changes everything like the cordycepin or adenosine content. They could have tested for cordycepin kr adenosine content but AG1 doesn’t,

I'd like to see a deep-dive into whoever is behind producing & marketing this stuff? I assume it wasn't already a huge success before the ads began appearing on what seems like EVERY KZfaq video and Podcast I subscribe to. So they must have a huge advertising budget allowing them to attempt making the stuff profitable by sheer strength of will... It seems like someone just found a potentially lucrative product category and convinced some investors that their brand would resonate with the 'lazy health conscious' demographic...
@StreetPreacherr

I'm just surprised that the brand SEEMS? to be popular? Or are they still hoping the advertising will make it successful before they run out of marketing budget... I thought the name sounds too much like 'Soylent Green', which I assumed consumers would consider disgusting. And the green colour looks gross, but I guess enough people have been programmed to assume GREEN=HEALTHY that the colour selection works... I mean, they could have made it any colour they wanted., so the sickly green was definitely a deliberate choice!

Love your authenticity my guy. The reason it MAY work for some people is because they dont consume healthy food in the first place, so to whatever degree AG1 reduces the lack of the micronutrient/s it makes them feel better, so yes, eat more fruits and veggies. However, if you're experienced and are in a deficit, it may be hard to eat everything you need to keep your micronutrients up, so a supplement may come in handy.

I eat bananas before exercise, 300g of frozen vegetables a day, mixed frozen berries with protein shakes. All this tastes better, is more satiating and is much much cheaper than AG1. Coupled with a daily multi vitamin I don't see why I would ever fork out this kind of money, it wouldn't even save me 5 minutes in a day.

It's the perceived convenience for some that seals the deal. Some people want to feel that they have found a cure for their messy schedule. Having fruits and veggies in your home requires to buy them from the grocery store, they go bad in a few days, you have to wash them, peel them and actually eat them. With AG1, you just mix some green powder into water and poof, you get some things that you might get from eating fruits and veggies, but at a fraction of the hassle. You chug that each morning and you "feel" like you've saved some time in your day. It's all about perception.

Even if I were to take every pill twice a day it would last me on average 50-60 days. AG1 is 107€ where I live and has 30 days worth. In Germany we have a lot of AG1 ads, too. Many platforms reviewed the product already. I came to the conclusion, that this product might only work in the US because in many areas getting fruit and vegetables is far more expensive than a family bucket of fried chicken. In Germany (or whole Europe) it is different. You can eat healthy for a fairly low budget. Ofc you can always add your supplements. But as long as you choose fresh food over processed, you are unlikely to have huge overall deficits.

Have you ever lived in the US? As long as you're not shopping at places like Whole Foods or supposed organic stores you can definitely buy veggies and fruits for a lot cheaper than a bucket of chicken.

Insane? It's $3/day. Most of the people who are taking this were already spending $6-7/day on coffee and doing nothing to improve their health. Are there better products for cheaper? Yes. But AG1 is getting people to transform their health who otherwise wouldn't even engage. I think that content creators need to tread carefully in shaming these people for being "scammed" etc. It's an insignificant amount of money. Introduce them to better products, yes, but don't shame them for trying AG1 and finding out that it actually makes them feel better. Encourage them to keep going further with even better products.

My experience is that the more something is advertised, the worse / less bang-for-buck the product is. Truly great products don't need millions or even billions of dollars of marketing backing them, because a truly great product and whatever results they produce speak for themselves. Don't be fooled by influencers pretending to care about you or your health.

You earned a new subscriber here. I have always felt the way you describe in the video, just eat better to start then see where you stand. Our culture is so instant gratification now that even changing our diet, one of the largest impacts on or health, is not in the conversation for many people because in general it will take more time/brain power to plan meals that are healthy and balanced. Like you said, people get disillusioned by products like this, that they're in fact getting what they're missing which is not the whole truth.

I live in Canada, and other similar greens powders are not much cheaper tbh. Been using AG1 for a year now, also I’ll add I did get sucked into it 😅…but with that being said it has definitely helped me. It helped regulate my appetite and stomach issues have got better. I also still eat a fairly good balanced diet most of the time. I had an extensive bloodwork done and all my vitamin/mineral levels were bang on… so take what you want from that

Love James’s videos. However. This one not so much. Had he been on it for 2 months then reviewed then fair enough. But just ripping it for the price (which is ridiculous by the way) and not knowing how you feel after taking it isn’t the right approach in my opinion. Have been on AG1 for about 6 months now. Started with a VERY skeptical mindset trying to make sure it wasn’t a placebo effect I was experiencing. My experience has been an improvement in alertness and cognitive ability literally 30 minutes after taking it. I also feel my deathly white skin has improved in colour and feel. Lastly I don’t think experience stomach discomfort like I used to. I already eat plenty of fruit and veg every day. Could I get the same results from a different product? Maybe. However this seems to work for me and it’s really convenient if horrendously expensive. So yeah I would say it’s not as clear cut as this video makes out especially with the lack of actually using it.

Idk, personally I'd been biking a couple times a week very hard for 2-3 years. Suddenly I start taking AG1 and my endurance more than triples, as in I literally bike 3-4 times as long, 3-4 hours without feeling tired. I don't eat right generally, it's the convenience of knowing I get everything.
