I bought anthem when it first came out. I loved it (still do) breaks my heart that they abandoned the game. That being said I started to play it again in late 2023 (still playing in early 2024) and I have consistently been finding ppl to play with really quickly when I select quick play on missions / strong holds. I plan on keeping it on my ps5. I truly believe if we all started to play again we can save it and hopefully the publisher will give it a second chance.

I do wish they would give it updates and overhaul it, cause it looks like it would be a fun game if it was given some love. Instead they took the cheapest option and let it die. What a shame

Just giving up on games is a common theme in the big AAA space. Ghost recon breakpoint is a good example. Tho it did get some content and positive changes they dropped it soon after.

It's just so painful knowing the crazy potential this game had, I genuinely enjoyed it and was hoping updates would add more to revive the game

Lesson learned.. Don't waste your time on any EA games. From PC, Console & Mobile games they work like that.. They will gr ab your money then run. They dont care on customer service.

I Just bought it for my pc for 3.31. I love this game so much. It so much fun. I believe that this game will get back on its feet. I just hope they make in update option for offline single player for this game and I know people will come back faster for that.

I enjoy it personally, I've begun replaying it again. Also, you will find players, but mostly in Freeplay and the GM1 - GM3 difficulty. Basically, everyone has either finished the Story or play the Story solo.

Played it since beta, had some really high hopes for having fun with friends long-term. A lot of potential but still EA gave up, and I guess it is their loss, someone will eventually pick up this kind of "iron man" gameplay concept and make a successful game. Btw here is a sub, hope you get more soon, my own analytics show less people are watching videos now and the best time to grow a channel was during COVID pandemic while people stayed in more and watched videos more.

Anthem would've been sick if it had mechanical animal enemies like Horizon to kill.

It's fun to hop on but I wish there were new things to do and new missions and strongholds added.

Man this is sad to hear, saw it on gamepass so I wanted to give it a go - did 2 missions and went straight into free play looking to find some people. But as you said there was literally no one. Flew around for a while and even tried to go into some coop missions but still nothing, seems like a great game tho

The reason we criticize it is because it could have been and honestly still could be SO GOOD that we just want it to be. Armor that actually has stats, more melee options, deeper flying mechanics, more abilities so you can feel like a mech wizard, armored core style customization for weapons and shoulders to really add depth. Instead they focused on a "destiny killer" which ugh just don't even try lol.

discount on ea at the moment for like 3usd/euro or 30skr so i think i migh buy it! Its too bad. There were so many things I liked about this game in terms of what I wanted to be able to do in an EXO.

This game absolutely could have turned it around. I played this game a lot and enjoyed the crap out of the gameplay (I'm a HUGE fan of the combo detonations that I fell in love with back in ME3 multiplayer). I didn't think that the game was that bad - but I was used the the shit show that was Destiny 1 & 2 development lol. They really could have turned it around if they got the support they needed from the publisher :(

When it came out, I bought origin access so I could play it earlier than other people and it fried my GPU, so I ended up wasting money and playing the game after people finished it because I had to get a new gpu

With the game constantly going on sale for $5 (usually less now) it's definitely worth it. I mean I guess that then becomes a matter of if it's worth someone's time though. I just got into it last year and the flying feels really good & unique, the world is beautiful though empty and the gunplay feels pretty good. Customizing my mech suit was neat and I liked all the options it had with the parts I can alter. After beating the story there's not much left to do other than ranking up all the javelin suits or trying to get a higher level so I just went for the platinum. The most annoying part is walking through that area with all the NPCs or how the same puzzles/design get shoved into every mission

Back in 2019 I was playing at grand master I believe it was Called. maybe not, but I was in 315, not many people at all play that level back then but man this game was the game that killed my hype for any game, I loved anthem was up with the top but yes EA gave up and it broke my heart of gaming for a while

So the fans got duped massively, stayed in the community for so long and now it's expected for this game to last somehow? People were disappointed and moved on. Simple as that.

This game still has so much potential

On PS I haven't had any issues finding players with the matchmaking. I only had people join my own story like one time, but I mostly played alone because it loads you in way faster. Every free play I loaded into had at least 2 people in it as well. So some people still play it. Gameplay is fire, but the content is trash. It's a true shame that there's nothing fun to do with such good gameplay.

Just bought this today. Played for 2 hours without even realizing it. Loving it so far. No problems finding teammates online which is a huge plus.

We have the technology now to make this game a better game with the melee weapons better new weapons at swords, more enemies strong boss bioware could do so much with the technology now let’s do a partition to continue production. This game could be a lot better. I have faith in the game. I never deleted it. It’s one of my favorite games.

Let me translate this video: If you jumped ship from anthem because it was overhyped and it didn't deliver at launch, it's worth it to give it a shot. The gameplay loop is great if you're into this style of game. But if you either A: already played the game or B: intend on making content for/streaming this game, you're better off looking elsewhere because there's nothing new and the community just isn't there.

This game had Major potential. This game definitely could and would have been a Destiny Killer. I will definitely miss this game. Had a lot of fun playing. Definitely a game I will remember and a game that could have been the Greatest of them all.

Well as of yesterday the 30th of may 2024 i just picked up a copy of anthem for $4 now normally that should say a lot for a game but i played it on release date fell in love with it and never finished it, and to answer your question yes you can recommend it…..why not recommend it just because of its age and no update?? Who cares if people enjoy it then let them play let them recommend it i know i will

What gets me is that EA has the GALL to sell Anthem at full price still, and it still requires constant WiFi connection to play at all. This is coming from a Beta day one LOD player that still loves the game. Imagine if they pulled a Warframe with it. Game would IMMEDIATELY skyrocket to popularity. But no. Take our money and leave without even the courtesy of a reach around.

Here's the sad truth this game has an abundant amount of potential.. and unfortunately the bigwigs don't necessarily have the creativity or the eye in order to make this game the success it should have been

It's really a shame. Kill the microtransactions and give the players EVERY piece of cosmetic gear and all Javelins. I play this game every now and then and it's fun in small chunks but it's also clearly incomplete. If they would have ACTUALLY made it open world and allowed you to see other players in the city you travel to, show NPCs and other players outside and inside of the city doing their own things, put ALL traversal in third person view and allow you to exit and enter your javelin at will in the cities , had more than one city to visit, and made the NPCs actual quest givers instead of clutter for the town...this game would have been fantastic. The game looks amazing, the controls are tight, the javelins are unique and cool to pilot, and the environments are beautiful. The lack of weapon diversity and lack of a blocking and or parrying mechanics also hurt the game quite a bit. I know the mods slightly change the elements and abilities of the weapons, but there should have been multiple TYPES of melee weapons with different animations for each type of melee weapon. How cool would it be to be in the Storm javelin and deflect projectiles with your cape (making the cape more than just cosmetic)? Or countering a melee attack as the Interceptor with a well-timed button press? The Interceptor should also run faster than it does. More enemy diversity too. Man...so many ideas. So many wasted opportunities! I wish they would use this IP and LISTEN to the GAMERS to try again. This could have been epic...

In the name of the GOD They were soon disappointed. A special idea is used in this game, which only needs to be strengthened. Just like a seed hidden in the soil; This seed will never grow, become a tree and bear fruit unless you take care of it and spend money on it. They can get ideas from Iron Man movies and Hell Divers, Crisis and Call of Duty games. Only the game should not be like Destiny 2, it should be different.

As an avid Battlefield 2042 player, I don't believe the statement you made on 2042 getting as much support for EA as you think it does. The game is incredibly content dry and incomplete even over 2 years from release. Wherever EA's resources are going, its definitely not 2042.

What i like about this game just like the Avengers is that i can put my apple music playlist and just vibe killing some enemies. So for me, of course worth it, sometimes you don't want to play a GOTY, just a game to spend some time.

The main problem is on the gamers part, look at what they do when Kojima release Zone of the enders 2 revamp gameplay, but still there was a lack of sales!!! Now the cycle repeats itself with Anthem* i know EA made it like a stupid microtransaction deal without plot but given the chance could be potentially become an ambitious open world in comparison to GTA Online

I was so disappointed in Anthem, it was such a cool game with incredible mechanics, and graphics; BUT, the game is hollow, there isn’t much to do in the game at all, very little to no replay value. EA has become a company that I avoid entirely, along with Rockstar for their lack of respect for the community, Bethesda for their overhyped games that are dead after a month.. If people stopped buying into the marketing of games, companies would produce better games because they would have to in order to be successful.
