Thank you for having integrity. When my channel get's to the point where I'm talking to brands about potential paid content I'll remember this video when deciding whom to work with. Nothing turns me off a channel more than seeing the main host(s) turn into a shill for whoever pays them the most.

It depends on the sponsors and sponsorships, and I think it's fine to seek it and earn it, but it's best when both parties agree on the parameters. Like you I created a disc golf channel primarily as a vlog, with an expanded range of content, and I've never sought sponsorship or affiliations. However, more recently (in the last year) I've agreed to have some companies send me their products for review, but I've not asked for a code or discount, though twice I've been given them. I've also made it clear to every one of them that I would be fair with my reviews. Ultimately you have to be 100% in control of your content, and people can agree to relationships with you based on who you are and what you do, or choose not to. But I think it's far better for you to just be who you are. Integrity does matter. Best of luck to you, Nate!

Something you don't see people talking about. Disc Companies can charge almost whatever they want for a disc. If a company marks up a disc 20 percent, and you give me a 10 percent discount for kickback, I'm still paying 10 percent more. I'd rather buy it second hand or a trusted company (that wouldn't sponsor people) because they are already selling at good prices. So yeah I agree with you.

There’s nothing wrong with cutting sponsorship. Maybe the Good Lord has better plans for you. Maybe infinite discs or whalesacs will call you up. But who knows? We support you. Keep being you and thank you for your amazing content.

Completely agree about "sponsorship" being overrated. The sponsor craze on socials is so annoying now. I was on a team and had to buy their discs at marked up prices to represent them. Huh? Dumped them, then i couldn't get them to drop me. What a racket! "Hey, I'm sponsored by these 27 companies. Use my 10% codes and you can maybe save the tax plus a tiny bit off shipping." Nah...

Imagine getting offended by someone saying good lord. That guy must be insufferable to be around.

I ordered a disc today before seeing this update. I used the code and it showed 10% off all the way through the checkout. After the order was finalized it showed that the code was inactivated. This will be my last order from them.

Why not try and get an OTB or disc unlimited sponsorship so you get a mixed bag?

Back when I was a kid and skateboarding was big my friend worked his BUTT off to get sponsored. He ended up getting addicted to the big boy drugs because of the pain of the injuries he suffered trying to get that. Can say, 100% confirmed sponsorship cause drug addictions.

Not being from the US, I really do not understand the connection between the disc golf scene, Christianity and KZfaq.

I’d consider myself a religious guy. “Good Lord” is in no way derogatory? In fact, the Lord is good! Perhaps, and this is no shade, the owner of said company should do some more Bible study. I’m guessing they took it as taking the Lords name in vain…common misconception and mistake made by very unstudied “Christian’s” hey it happens though. Nate I think you’re doing a bang up job. I wouldn’t expect to censor anyone I was willing to send product to in the first place (obviously they’ve seen your past videos…) sounds like you made a good decision.

Man. I feel like if you're that level of religious, you should take the time to make sure the people you're reaching out to are making the kind of squeaky-clean content you want to be associated with. It's a bummer to see it play out that way for both of you. As for sponsorships, I think they need to either involve money or be for a brand you already love and promote. For example, I throw all Trilogy-I gravitated towards it naturally and didn't love the non-Trilogy molds I had any more than their comparable options-so they're the only company I'd really think about without being paid more than I could ever deserve to be for my game. But I already love and promote their discs, so it wouldn't be asking much of me to do something official.

So, they have a problem with Good Lord but don't give a crap about you saying Holy Cow. I am fine with both, but it shows you how one group is easily offended by a comment about their faith but completely oblivious to another faith. As I said, I am ok with whatever you say. You are not trying to be disrespectful. In fact, you use both these terms in a positive spin. Keep being you, that is the way we like you.
