The gulp has minimal action. They are rigid and tear easily. Zman for inshore is far and away the best inshore soft plastic. Lots of them come scented and When they aren’t I just put some procure in the package. Realistically you could buy 4 packs of zman plastic in different profiles and a couple of bottles of procure and fish all year for $30-40. Only of the jugs of gulp is $20.

I often use GULP for shore jigging in Japan, it flavor is very effective at my area. Last time caught flounder by this.

Cool video. Started using Gulp back around 2001ish /power naturals days on the Columbia River for smallies. I love it on smallmouth fisheries & inshore saltwater fishing. However, in saltwater if your're around a bunch of lizard fish and pinfish - they'll tear it up fast. Best to use elaztech with some Gulp spray scent in that scenario. As for dead sticking Gulp,it can work great at times but so can the elaztech baits with a bit of current on ned-heads (both in fresh & saltwater).

I can't speak for saltwater fishing, but freshwater fishing, gulp minnows are the best soft plastics available. I use the 1 inch gulp minnow (black shad and chartreuse are the best) year round. The larger minnows are not worth the price. People think the 1 inch is too small but I have caught all sizes on it. From small to large fish. I always have a couple jars with me. Some of the other gulp products like the earthworm, maggots, etc. Kind of suck.

Tried 3 different types here in New Zealand for wharf fishing. Gulp Squid vicious, zMan, and Orange Angler slider. The gulp got me bites and tugs within seconds of being in the water where the others got none. Just unfortunate that they are not tough and the fish end up biting the fake tentacles of the bait!

Do the shirts come in a 3xl tall?

For flounder and redfish it is definitely worth it... for other species like trout, more durable and inexpensive options work great!

How much of the Berkeley gulp should I have in my tackle boxes and what are the most important ones to get when I go to get it

Gulp has an advantage when it comes to holding scent/flavor. They are soy based vs. oil based that true plastic worms are (why you need to keep them wet). You can also colorize them - make them bleed if you wish!

I also fish the Virginia Beach area. My experience indicates that Gulps make a huge difference for Flounder and Reds. Trout and Stripers really don't seen to give a crap if your bait smells or not.

Have you guys done a video yet about FishBits and how they rank when compared to Gulp or Zman?

I've found that flounder tend to favor gulp over other soft plastics!

You two have come a long way and you have basically shared your trade secrets with the world through the years. Everyone and their Mother watches KZfaq. Who in their right mind wouldn’t watch these gems. I’m from the ESVA pocomoke sound and I mean I get it and i have my special spots ;) but my stance is...At one point in his/her fishing career to present day, someone somewhere has given you a tip or two on how and where to catch some good fish. And to not share at least a piece of your knowledge with someone else, to help fellow fisherman is a discredit to people that want to be at your level one day. It ain’t like that here buddy. It’s every man for themself. But...you two have taken basically days upon days of your lives to share as much knowledge as humanly possibly with the world. And for that you have my full Respect. My honest opinion, my honest feedback is that you guys are making a ton of improvement in content. Bait wise is a matter of choice, presentation and very often improvising, I mean i have had a lot of response sometimes even using freshwater baits when nothing else seems to be working.

Suppose I use a container of Berkeley, can I put Z'man in the container & get the same scent effect? I've seen y'all put that squeeze scent on Z'man & it looks to me like the goop would just fly off so, how long does the goop last?

My opinion (if anyone cares) Zman makes some great products and the company has come along way since it’s first chatterbait exploded on the scene in the mid 2000’s and all of their products are made right here 🇺🇸 I use their products religiously on largemouth bass here in southern Delaware, last year I started using them in saltwater for Stripers too, but for flounder fishing (around here anyway) nothing beats Berkley gulp saltwater products period, end of story !!! I’m 56 and been fishing these waters all my life with minnows, silversides, peeler crabs, squid ect but for flounder fishing all that became a thing of the past with gulp !!!
