Because you’re a buzzkill and it’s not haram. Let people enjoy, I don’t even celebrate my birthday personally. As well as new year’s eve or whatever, I just go to see the fireworks, not to perform a pagan ritual. I’m curious, everything is haram for you people, what do you do in your lives? You know that dead scrolling on your phone makes more sense to be haram than birthdays right?

@Ingeri The Disciple, Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) stated that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) migrated to Madinah, he saw that the people celebrated two specific days annually. Some scholars have stated that they were the holidays of the Persians. So the Prophet asked, “What are these two days?” They informed him that these were days of celebration of festivals from before the advent of Islam (i.e. from the era of jāhiliyyah). So he said, إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَبْدَلَكُمْ بِهِمَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمَا يَوْمَ الأَضْحَى وَيَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ “Indeed Allah has replaced these days with days better than them: the Day of Adhā and the Day of Fitr.” (Abu Dāwūd, no. 1134)
@Ingeri
@Ingeri 28 күн бұрын
@Iffath-qp8os yes ofcourse those days are better than any other days, there is no comparison. And one should give them more importance, but what is haram in acknowledging days of your personal relationships with friends and family. There is a huge difference in celebrating religious days with real meaning, versus celebrating the little things in life. Those 2 days you were referring to were probably celebrating something pagan or controversial like an idol maybe which is directly conflicting with Tawheed

Celebrating birth day is not western culture, People around the globe celebrate it. Rasool Allah Salla alayhi wasallama has celebrated it by doing fasting, He did special act of Fasting on the same day he was born. Look,many people directly throws away an argument and be strict and all. But it all comes down to the intention, right? I haven't celebrated with a cake nor with relatives for many years. But I'm extra happy on that day. I buy some stuff specially on that day. Maybe a few gifts from my family. Like,last birthday I asked mom to gimme an English Quran as a present. She gave me that. I'm happy. So,for me birthday is like that. Even tho I'm getting older and prolly closer to death,that's the day I came to this world so it's special for me. My intentions are not to follow christians nor Jews. It's just to celebrate the happiness in a normal way. Like,if I ever celebrate it in a community center or something,I'll just do something like take family photos and all that as memories and nothing else. Eat some food with the loved ones. Never disturb neighbors like those huge sounding music boxes. Have chats with close ones and that's about it. Note that I haven't celebrate like that in long time. I usually just have it like a normal day,get wished by my online friends have some gifts and all that. I haven't even ate a cake for birthday in a few years. Will I be that wrong if I consider upgrading my celebration in a way I'm describing here? Like for my 20th birthday,I wanna make it memorable as much as possible. Yes,I plan on even praying more nafl (with every fard prayer) as another special thing. People here celebrates with like fireworks and all that. I never do such a thing. I'm just extra happy and all that.

I dont know, still trying to understand the issue with it you know. No one is saying waste a lot of money throwing an event and all. Many times its a gesture to celebrate your family member or friend. There is no explicit haram. If you can't celebrate that, then don't celebrate National Day, or anything else. Look at the end of the day Celebrate doesn't mean get drunk and party, it can just be a small gathering of loved ones. In that case when you play football and win a trophy just go straight home, dont celebrate your win, just opening a door that doesnt need to. Allah has permitted people to enjoy life here to an extent and within his laws.

Subhan’Allah not only what he is mentioning above in the video but I have made deep dive studies into this and it is even known in the satanic bible (Anton LaVey, (Air) Book of Lucifer - The Enlightenment, Avon Books, 1969, Ch XI, Religious Holidays, p. 96), for reference. Regarding birthdays as the highest of all holidays in the Satanic religion. It goes forth in the chapter to explain that “Why not really be honest and if you are going to create a god in your image, why not create that god as yourself. Every man is a god if he chooses to recognize himself as one.” Contuining.. “You should give yourself a pat on the back, buy yourself whatever you want, treat yourself like the king (or god) that you are, and generally celebrate your birthday with as much pomp and ceremony as possible." So with that mentioned. Why should we as Muslims try to make excuses for this type of pagan, satanic practice when it was never even mentioned or considered ok to do so by the righteous. You only find people that celebrated birthdays where the ancient world of Egypt, Greece, Rome, and Persia celebrated the birthdays of gods, kings, and nobles. It is mentioned in the Old Testament Pharaoh, king of Egypt, celebrating the day of his birth with a festival. Mesopotamia and Egypt, the cradles of civilization, were also the first lands in which men remembered and honoured their birthdays. The keeping of birthday records was important in ancient times principally because a birth date was essential for the casting of a horoscope. So, there is a direct connection between the pagan practice of birthday celebrations and astrology (horoscopes and fortune telling). If you are not convinced at this point let me inform you about one other thing in regards to birthdays origin. The global tradition of blowing out candles which adorn a birthday cake to be shared with well-wishers is rooted in an ancient Greek votive ritual to honor the goddess Artemis, the female archetype associated with childbirth, wildlife, and the moon. Last thing I will mention. Is that the counting and blowing out of the candles, making wishes are actually to celebrate, adorn and do shirk to the shaitan (jinn) that is beside you from the time of your birth (the one appointed to you) Now, I conclude. Leave this practice for the sake of Allah!

There is a specific reason behind why I celebrate birthdays, I thought it was very positive and saw nothing wrong in it, is it not the cause or what your doing it for that matters? Or the intentions you have for doing something that matter… I have read the Quran but I haven’t seen where it mentions birthdays being haram. Is this a Hadith? The way I see it is, you are gifting someone as charity and making them happy and in return you get blessings for your good deeds. I don’t see the error… I didn’t have bad intentions. Like the gifting part can’t be wrong, we gift the homeless and less fortunate as zakat no? Please help me understand. I am only really returning the favor, I give gifts to my parents every so often and on their birthdays as thanks for all they do. They mean so much to me and I have a level of respect for them as Allah says to be kind and respectful to your parents. I don’t mean any harm 😢
