Hi! Thank you for letting us know about Boracay. I am a Filipina. Your honest review helped me to realize what needs to be done more in Boracay. Before Boracay had a temporary closure just to clean-up the beach. But now, it is sad to see that until this year 2022, there's still algae :( Hope the water pollution will be resolved soon.
@FoodandFootprints
@FoodandFootprints 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and leaving a thoughtful comment. They did good work cleaning up the island, but of course more can be done. We heard that some of the algae may have been seasonal, but we still wanted to share our honest experience. Loved the clean soft sand!
@xose2863
@xose2863 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, algae are unsightly but they are NOT 'water pollution' and are NOT an indication of a dirty and unkempt beach. Algae are natural components of the marine ecosystem. What the vlogger fails to mention, probably because they've no idea, is that the occurrence of algae on Boracay beach is seasonal.

O I thought the Algee was what Boracay had to close down to get rid of. Looks like a magnificent beach regardless though. So cool that you guys found a bunch of nice lil special spots like the local coffee store and good to know there is PIZZA! Looks super busy that is surprising too.

Partially, but moreso to clean it up overall. Read there were sewage problems and other issues. They even have electric tricycles/tuk tuks here. Was reading that algae still comes seasonally and saw a recent video of the beach with no algae, so we may have just been unlucky with timing. Beach was still amazing for sure! Yup! Pretty busy with lots of local tourists when we went.

Lol lol those greetings are only 5% of the downside. 😁 The worst was the Algae!! Just sharing, every where I went the last time, was full of algae, Except at Ilig Iligan.👍🏻🏝️ The algae appears mainly from the month of January right up to beginning of April, which I was told by the locals. So, best to avoid these months. On the upside, the Algae actually makes the sand Super White & Soft, according to 1 of the cops I spoke to the last time. 🤔🤔 Can't find a proper answer to that research but that sewer smell really turns you off from swimming in the waters!
