@Doctor Whos it's pretty easy nowadays especially with so many websites that help match parts. It's good to know your pc inside and out, in case of anything you can feel confident in fixing or upgrading it yourself. I used to work in a local pc repair shop and literally felt like I was scamming people when I had to charge $50 to put RAM(they already bought) in their pc.... that was literally 20 seconds of work and 2 minutes to turn on the pc and show them it was installed properly

@Doctor Whos who ever said human labor cost somthing, why are do so many tech companies assemble their products in china or vietnam where you can offer slightly higher wages which are still basically nothing compared to their profits. so really it is SKILLED human labor. assembiling tech is easy building it is hard. Also you might wanna swap from scratch to assemble, because from scratch implies that they are also building the parts.

Great video. Very honest review. I actually did the math on digital storm like you did and came to the same conclusion. Wish I had just watched the video, lol. As someone who could one, paying 12% seems pretty reasonable. They are providing a service and shouldn't do it for free. The scam is buying some of these package deals for golf simulators that I'm currently looking at. You essentially get 1/2 the PC for the same price. Will be purchasing a Redux for sure. Thanks again!

@@kgamer121I actually ended up building my own. Decided to take on the challenge vs. buying a prebuilt. I was regretting it half way through, but in the end was very happy :)

@@caldery I don’t really remember what tier I got but the graphics card I chose was the 3070 ti with an Intel 12600k. I can pretty much run every game at 1440p high settings with 100fps

Ive been stuck with an old mac for about a year and a half, and before that a hand-me-down windows laptop from my dad. Now that my birthday is rolling around, I might actually get one of these, just so I dont embarrass myself as much when playing games with friends.

great video. one thing I think you should add if you really want to compare apples to apples is the build fee. how much would it cost to pay someone to build you the computer if you just buy the parts, vs getting the prebuilt. currently Microcenter has a build fee of (Air-Cooled $150, Air-Cooled and OS $200, Water-Cooled (AIO) $250)

Build redux is seems much better now. Since this video, the “better” build has been given a much better GPU and the pc is 100 dollars cheaper than the one you showed. I bought my first pc from build redux a month ago and chose the better option. Came with an i5 12400f but now comes with rtx 4070. The cpu is now cheaper and they charge an extra 50 for the gpu. The only thing I’ve upgraded since I’ve bought it is going from 16 to 32 Gb of ram because I only use the pc for fligbt simming and my ram usage averaged 90-100% when using the sims and it caused a lot of stutters. When I look at other pc companies, I’d give build redux a 5/5. I love the pc they built me. Also worth noting they now have AMD chips available but when you select the three pre built options, it gives you Intel by default for them so you have to go in and switch it.

Yes this video is a little outdated, but the pricing still seems to be some of the best in the industry, a few complaints about the shipping and building time but I’m glad you had a good experience!

Huge update coming with all of the major prebuilt manufacturers, obviously we won’t be able to go into depth with Warranties and Build Time, but price to performance for sure!

@@MikMatTech yeah I’d agree with that lol. It took a month to arrive lol. Wasn’t an issue cuz I was on vacation for 2 of those weeks. And shipping is rather expensive, (im from the Midwest, build redux is from Cali). I don’t think build redux is viable for anyone outside the us. As well, when you subtract the cost of the build and the windows 11 OS installation, according to pc part picker, price when you build it yourself is nearly exactly the same. Build redux is about 50-100 dollars more expensive but the fact they charge so little for parts is insane. It gives noobs like I was a piece of mind as they do everything for you and are building you a very good pc.

Yeah they made everything on here cheaper and adding everything including the fee will cost its ORIGINAL cost, like if I add everything on better on a calculator it says 1848, and the components cost is 1749 and add the fee which is 99 equals 1848 dollars. I would say thats a pretty good deal $100 OFF!! Plus you can customize the specs so you can choose which specs you want but cpu and gpu are amazing with options but only Nvidia and cpu is the same but mostly Intel. and everything else doesnt have that much options. It looks still great.

Honestly you can’t be mad at a build fee lol the cost of the parts has nothing to do with them, they gotta make money after all nobody is going to build you a PC for free unless they know and love you lol. I used to do PC builds for people best believe I’m getting my build fee, $100 is reasonable.

The Geek squad member that handle my return told me cyber power pc and ibuypower are nutorious for using bad GPUs. I don't know how true that is. He mentioned there are some good pc that they have made but rare.

You can buy a Dell G5 5000 Series with a 3070 RTX G-Force for $2500 USD IF you shop smart and wait for black Friday Sale or other and you can have a PC From the Factory That is ten times better than these I also have found all one would need for the 2070super and the 3070 3080 3090 to water cool it for less than $800 USD. I did my homework and research before buying my gaming pc and anyone and everyone I had went to was way over priced by atleast a $1000.00 USD or more depending on what you wanted installed and none of them could build my pc or my friends pc for under $3500 USD and Dell could by far and I have loved My gaming PC I plan on going back to Dell for my next tower.

I've been stuck with a HP Omen laptop since 2017. Never owned an actual PC and never built one before either. I don't' have the confidence to build one myself so I've just been going around looking at different pre-build sites and build redux has been on my radar. Since it's going to be my first PC, I plan on getting the 4090 pre-build. Anyone who has this pre-build, let me know your thoughts! :D Can't wait!

We wish we could! But we’re more advocates in building yourself, we simply would not be able to get discounts on parts at such a scale that would make the margins make sense. It’s definitely not an easy market to be in, but we firmly stand on doing research if your going to buy prebuilts or use options offered by places like Microcenter which are more inexpensive

Dude I started a warranty claim 6 months after I got it because the system would stop recognizing my GPU. I deleted drivers and redownloaded them. And they told me that should fix it. After I did this the SSD went on the Fritz. So they sent me a new one (I had to pay the shipping of course). Now my GPU won’t even recognize half the time. Windows refuses to reinstall from the drive they sent me. And they are saying “it’s out of warranty”. I had to get a lawyer cuz I spent 4500 for this thing.

It isn’t a scam. I’ve had my pc for a while now, and don’t feel like I’m being scammed. They’re a company so of course they will charge $60 more vs you buying your own parts.

I do not own one of their computers, but I really think your comment is incredibly fair. They do all the leg work, and give you a 2 year warranty. Assuming they back their warranty, I feel like their pricing is quite good.

The 5700G is an downgrade. The 5600X and the 5700X is better and gives you better benchmarking scores and does not have a cut down die. And they can use PCI 4.0

The 5700X was out of stock when originally creating this video, so we compromised with the 5700G at the time And the Ryzen 7 5700g is capable of PCI-E Gen 4 if the M.2 connection is to the chipset not directed to the CPU. Sadly in the board we used the PCI-E Gen 4 is connected directly to the CPU and the one connected to the chipset is Gen 3. The drive we did use was PCI-E Gen 3 but still should have been something to mention for people anticipating Gen 4 upgrades I’ll pin a comment to correct this, good catch!

build is questionable as I have one in from a customer. literally has cpu fan failure on post b/c they hooked up fan module with 6 fans on it to the cpu fan header instead of the aio cooler. the aio cooler pump they hooked to cpu_opt. there is no aio pump header on the prime board they installed (no biggie). then they have 360mm intake in front and on the other side of the front (inside of case) they hooked up the aio radiator to it with 240mm also coming in. so 5 intake, (2) 120mms of which are hot air from radiator and only (1) 120mm exhaust. like wth.

There's a reason build redux doesn't list a brand for some of the parts. It's because they are using some of the cheapest shittiest quality components and then pretending it's premium (especially the disk). Mine failed after less than a year.

Basically, it's a decent computer but if you're good at reading and understanding instructions when it comes to electronics you can just build one yourself with the same parts and save a couple hundred bucks

Redux is a great company and for sure one of the better companies we’ve taken a look at. Building your own is always the best “price to performance” option but for stress free servicing and warranties that extra money is worth it to some people You chose well with Redux. At least it wasn’t Lyte pc 😉

@@dusk3219 It was having blue screen issues whenever I tried to transfer large files from hard drive to hard drive. Same goes for when downloading movies. Turns out one stick of RAM was bad so I had to contact them to replace the stick. Now the PC runs smooth

If you don't pay $199 for shipped within 7 business days then you wait 1-3 month to get it. 15-20 business is a joke. You pay $199 you still wait over 13-15 day, take your time and build what you like over 3k you should have one better than redux build. It call scam 100%

Ok Now on this one for custom built They had only Nvidia's for there graphics no AMD Radeons so yea didn't shop there either.

Scam? I been searching for other prebuilt websites and redux makes more sense comparing prices it’s ok for them or if someone it’s not trying to build it themselves or they don’t know how to plus you get 2years warranty a usb recovery”you don’t get that at other prebuilt websites they just doing there jobs they not going to do it for free 🙄

Had to look it up because i just saw an ad saying they had pc's for only $99, either straight up false advertising or they used tricky wording that i just didnt catch. either way, i smell a lawsuit

They are a scam. You can create a Farrr stronger gaming computer for half the price and the performance is bad. 60 fps 1080p for 1800 wut wut wut. My 1060 laptop does better.
