Subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan for new content daily! Today we are looking at the Tron Retro Station, a 10-in-1 miniature arcade cab that’s half Mega Man and half Street Fighter games. I paid around $220 for it and it was worth it, it's my most played home arcade thanks to the hack. Granted some games have issues, but fixes are coming. If it couldn't be hacked, with the stock games it comes it wouldn't have been worth a dime for me, but the hack combined with the unit's amazing screen and design make it well worth the money I spent importing it to my country.

The hack I want the most is the ability to use an 8BitDo dongle in the USB port. Not had any luck connecting any external controller though wired or wireless.

Sweet Pickups ! 💙 at first i wanted to buy this but decided to pass on it , i couldn’t see myself playing the mega man games with a joystick. If it came with a controller support i would have consider it . Anyhow great video ! 🤘

This unit seems to be a really good size, most of the mini arcades are just a little too small for you to be able to feel like you’re playing with an actual arcade controller. For me personally, I’m not a big enough fan of either series to spend the money on it, but if they made this same sized unit with 20-50 random arcade games, I’d be more tempted.

It would definitely be a better value proposition with 20 games. Ten is pushing it.

@@MrMegaManFan Yeah, 10 is pretty light for the price tag, but I know the games weren’t the main selling point for you in the first place.

GOOD NEWS! A brand new hack makes the Capcom Retro Station FINALLY able to emulate most arcade roms such as all CPS1, CPS2, Cave, Neo Geo, and most other arcade games in general that came before CPS3 and that Final Burn Neo can emulate... So, thousand of titles! It's not open source, at least not yet, so it's fairly restrictive when it comes to usual CFW options. The UI is quite limited too... It would all change if the creator would release the codes, but he's not right now. Not much customization available yet. But anyway, it does not matter much. This will INFINITELY enhance your device, and is EXACTLY what I had in mind when I bought mine when it got out. I had plans to hack it myself, but never had the time. There is an easy to follow video tutorial if you have issues somehow. Basically, you'll prepare USB flash drive to boot, and once installed, you'll have the option of either boot to "TRON", which is the stock Retro Station menu, or to the hacked one called "FLYNNS" (name of the Dev). Once you add your own roms to the correct folders in the flash drive, you'll be able to select them from there. Cool stuff already! Now this thing might final stop collecting dust :P

Unfortunately the speed in many games is laggy. Maybe one day they can smooth it out. Although this Retro Station is still way too expensive

@@Gold_Lightan It's really barebone right now, and definitely not optimize. But everything including and before CPS2/Neo Geo is playing at full speed with no lag. Even if optimized, this chip won't be able to emulate CPS3, KI, etc. It sill leaves you with countless games to play at full speed, and in a pretty unique form factor. It does not change the fact that it was really overpriced for what it was, and Capcom should really have included more titles, comparable to the collections on MSX X, ASP, NG Mini, etc.

@@Unholy_Louie what puts me off from buying, is SF (not sure which version), the scrolling is wrong in a couple of stages, one of them is Blanka’s

I'm not knowledgeable enough to notice these things (SF2 is mostly nostalgia for me; getting as much quarters as possible to play on the real thing as a kid, etc.), but still, it's unacceptable. It was their ONLY job lol... They definitely didn't care much, and the price was insulting for what it offers. The freaking new Evercade handheld comes with 3 times the numbers of games contained in the Retro Station... Ridiculous. Mine was a new but DOA unit with package and all that I fixed, so it's okay, but otherwise a slap in the fans' faces.

What puts me off more than any of these things is that I haven't found a wired or wireless controller compatible with it. Why have USB ports and nothing can use them? So frustrating.

So, is Mega Man & Bass avaliable in English as well? Sure it was localised for GBA but I’d be pleasantly surprised if Capcom went through the trouble of modifying the SFC version!

Björn I have to issue a correction here - I was wrong. The menus are in English but all the dialogue is still in Japanese, so if I said they localized it I misspoke.
