Is cedar point using top thrill 2 to distract us?

I think whatever the next big coaster was supposed to be got pushed back because of covid and then cancelled due to the accident. they used the resources for the big coaster to rework dragster. Cedar Fair obviously made some sort of deal with Zamperla because we got the wild mouse and Carowinds got a few new Zamperla flat rides in addition to TT2. I hope TT2 is successful for everyone's sake

There was speculation of Monstrosity coming to life after the accident on TTD. I want something like that spanning the length of the park, front to back, full of speed, banked turns, and 500feet!

I 100% think they are going to spend as little capital as possible because lending terms right now are not ideal and they are occupied with the Six Flags merger. I expect nothing new for the next 12 months.

Cedar point doesn’t only need massive massive rides, the T. rex looks awesome but I like the GCI too it’d be a fun ride that would be great for anyone

Honestly this would be Tony playing 4D chess. This would explain why cedar fair went with zamperla for this redo. First, it'll allow the park to see what Zamperla can do Second, it's cheaper than intamin so they're obviously saving money for some reason (hopefully for a new coaster and not a new park bench) Third and most importantly it's a distraction for all of us. While we're working out why they chose Zamperla instead of intamin, the park might be working on the next insane ride

I think they are going with Zamperla to save money cuz of all the debt they're in, which is one of the reason they merged with six flags. I don't think any parks will do something record-breaking or gigantic anytime soon until some of the debt has been payed, but idk thats just me.

I 100% believe they are going to replace corkscrew. No one rides it and they’ve been prepping that area by moving stuff out.

They aren’t doing anything to Corkscrew any time soon. They are not moving anything out back there either, and that maintenance building there is going to be very difficult to move everything out of.

You must not go enough. There’s always someone on corkscrew lol. I go 4-5 times a year and every time the cars are full with people in line. Same with Gemini.

RMC Trex there, new corkscrew with a similar layout with more airtime. Make it happen.

@@rustyshacklefordrefined5756 can’t and won’t happen. The T-Rex, for all that we know, is cancelled. They haven’t promoted it at IAAPA whatsoever in years. Plus, Cedar Fair doesn’t want to buy anything from RMC until they fix their reliability problems, which they haven’t done at all. If they can’t make two prototypes in 2018, I wouldn’t want to buy another prototype from them given the issues Steel Vengeance and RailBlazer both have to this day. And all of the buildings behind corkscrew are unable to be moved without the construction of a new facility.

If Cedar Point can obtain property off the island for parking, the island itself has much more real-estate that is currently parking lot they could use.

I was told a while back from several different sources that RMC plans for the first Trex to go to Adventureland not far from RMC headquarters so they can monitor it before mass production.

CP isn’t building without demolishing lol. They don’t even need new coasters right now because their reputation for being the best amusement park in the eastern United States still holds up. And for revenue to be down, I can’t seem to go when it’s not busy. lol. I think from here on it’s gonna be about family attractions to draw the most money unfortunately. The coaster wars are long gone.

I think both options might be built, and maybe for the GCI they take out mine ride (that is about to reach the end of service), RMC Trex replacing corkscrew would be a godsend too

I think that’s a good idea, they could have done so much more with tt2. Maybe they were trying to save as much as possible, but still get the marketing value and the ride re opened, while planning something way better.

I’m guessing they are done with new coasters, they are running out of land. The dragster was supposed to be bigger, but cp was unwilling to demolish Gemini

The only way I see them building a new coaster is they use the left over land from forbidden frontier and as he mentioned build a woodie around Millennium Force

I have heard "Cedar Point is running out of land" for well over 20 years on web forums, and when new rides were announced it was always a "how are they fitting a ride there?!". They have land they can use still even without removing rides. Also, Dragster was NOT supposed to be bigger. The first designs for TTD included a magnetic launch (if I recall correctly), but it would have taking a fair bit more space to get up to 120MPH. That is why there was talk of them possibly removing Gemini. When the decision was made to go with a hydraulic launch they were able to put the ride into its current footprint.

Dont forget the huge parking lot as room for additions... parking can be moved onto the main land.. There are parking garages that can handle the cars and provide some kind of shuttle

@@somewhatchewyno, they just tear down other attractions. You know like the log ride so they could install raptor or disaster transport and space needle for gate keeper. They tore down another water ride to install maverick

To be honest I don't think that RMC t rex is the only thing that could top SV in the park. I'm talking about 2 models from 2 different manufacturers. And that's Intamin blitz, which is however VERY unlikely to happen, because they already have maverick. But it could top it from another park. And the second which is a bit more likely, but also probably won't happen is Mack hyper. Look at what they've done with Hyperia, that thing looks absolutely mental! Could you actually imagine a mack hyper with xtreme spinner seats? I think that a coaster longer than Hyperia with a similar layout and a spinning seats could top it actually quite easily

Cedar point is my home park, been going every year(outside of Covid year) since 1999, had a Fast Lane Plus annual pass last year and went 25 times. I loved Dragster and got a rollback on my first ride ever, but I have to admit, im not excited for TT2 at all and my disappointment is so drastic that im not even getting a season pass this year, ive decided to plan a trip to Hersheypark, Kings Island, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Carrowinds instead of CP. I hope youre right, and they add something else on top of TT2 because TT2 seems like a gigantic downgrade to TTD. I hope im wrong and it ends up being great.

I can definitely agree with Theme Park Predictions dude on that 😂😅 but to bad it probably won't happen for a few years until after they get out of dept. What they should focus on is putting a few of these at their smaller park so those smaller parks can make some money 🤑🤑🤑🤑💰

I believe T-Rex is correct but not location. With the merger and 2024 being Corckscrew's exit year that opens a nice plot

If they are going to do a wooden coaster, then they should go with Gravity Group over GCI. Gravity Group makes better large-scale but compact coasters. One traversing through Adventure Island would be insane!

It was shelved due to RMC’s poor work on Steel Vengeance. COVID had nothing to do with it. The RMC-Cedar Fair relationship is permanently damaged and there wont be another RMC in the chain any time soon.

Covid had ALOT to do with it. Everything was pushed back 1 to 2 years. As their relationship with RMC, who knows what will happen. Remember, never say never.

@@876portturbo I mean, Intamin still hasn’t moved on from their past. They’ve gotten better, but they still have Sandor there and they still have problems. Plus, they don’t really offer anything that they can’t get for cheaper from Zamperla or more reliable from Mack. RMC is whole different beast. Their reliability hasn’t improved at all, I’d argue it’s only gotten worse with every new ride of theirs always having problems.

@@Channeldeleted_0 The horrendous reliability issues it still faces to this day. And the fact all of their other models still have terrible reliability and aren’t as appealing to guests. The rerideability is affected by the long lines because of RMC’s aversion to capacity. Their trains are awful and uncomfortable, and many guests in good health can’t ride due to their horrible train designs. I highly recommend watching the video ElToroRyan made on Steel Vengeance to go into more detail as to how poorly made this ride was. The downtime it faced in 2018 is unacceptable and if you don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to work with them afterwards, I can’t say I’d want you as the GM of the park.
