At first glance November birthstones don’t seem to offer too much…but maybe there is more. What sets the November birthstones apart from the rest?

one rarity- in Bolivia the two colors of amethyst and citrine can form together(Ametrine)
Question: I believe there are more people with the November birthstones that don’t like their birthstone. What month are you glad is NOT your birthstone? Maybe it’s your stone, but either way, what’s your least favorite Birthstone. You can’t love them all. Let me know.
Topaz
Topaz is more well known for blue(but of course that is fake)
A common natural topaz color is yellow to orange and brown. it is common in warm tones. orangey red to red are typically the most valuable.
8 on MOHs but you need to be careful of its cleavage. they break easily in rings.
Fun facts
because it takes such a high polish it is known for being a slippery gemstone
Known for some massive natural crystals -one in brazil was 596 pounds
Pleochroic-one of my favorite words as well as stone characteristics
The stone shows different colors at different viewing angles.
While there is some versatility in these birthstones, most of their merits are based on price and size availability.

My life improved when I adopted blue topaz as my birthstone instead of the yellow/orange. I have many pieces of the unwanted, but am increasing the blue!!

I HAVE SEEN SOME ANTIQUE CITRINE THAT IS A JUST BREATH TAKING. CLEAR, YELLOW AND THE COLOR OF MEADOW FLOWER HONEY. PALE AND SOFT. GORGEOUS!

My engagement ring is a beautiful orangey-pinky topaz. It's actually one of my favourite gemstones, which is fortunate because I am a November baby. My least favourite stone is a diamond, and I knew that I absolutely didn't want a diamond for my engagement ring!

My mom was a November baby. She also died in November in 1999. Her mother died in November 2018. November has always been a tough month for me. Recently however, I’ve started making jewelry and ornaments out of thread. I’m learning how to make lace. I’m always looking for ways to improve my craft and looked up minerals I can find in my area. Citrine is found naturally in Northwest Ohio. Seeing how beautifully citrine can look when tumbled and even when cut makes me want to get my shovel and find some tumbling rocks. That would be very therapeutic I think. Mom and I didn’t get along very well, but I recognize that we just didn’t understand each other’s love language. The physical labor of hunting for local gemstones, tumbling them, and shaping them into polished pieces…Then, turning them into works of art sounds very healthy. What other gemstones are found in Ohio and Michigan? I think that would make for a neat video.

Growing up as a November birthday I always hated topaz, it wasn't until going to gem shows with my grandparents that I discovered blue topaz and started to really appreciate the stone. Amethyst always has been my favorite but I might consider getting an ametrine in recognition of my birthstone haha.

Least favorite is emerald. Dark green does nothing for me, but I absolutely love the pale green peridot. My most favorite is a pale yellow stone--I don't care what it is made of.

My Birthday is actually November and I absolutely Love Topaz and Citrine . I have several pieces and have always been drawn to these rich, fall and earthy colors . Plus citrine is known to be the “merchants “ stone which I keep a real natural piece of citrine in my purse and by my bedside and I feel it helps with blessing me with prosperity. I’m not ultra rich by far but wearing and carrying the natural citrine crystal I seem to always be blessed to have what I need and still some to give. The stones are so underestimated in my opinion and I also think that stores and commercials and marketing to the masses just does not promote citrine or topaz. Anyway I just absolutely love it’s rich golden color. Smoky topaz is also a favorite for me . It’s so grounding ! I find if I wear or carry smoky topaz or citrine I stay calm and grounded and just gets me through my day better when I’ve been extra stressed or busy . I highly recommend citrine or topaz for helping a lot of people!. My least favorite gemstone is diamond .

While living in Argentina we vacationed in Brazil frequently during one of our holidays my Mother fell in love with a huge rectagular yellow Topaz ring so when Mother passed I got it. It was stolen but luckily in Chile and their Police returned the Topaz. Unfortunetly, they had already dismounted (I don´t know if I said that correctly)it from the gold band. It is still a beautiful stone.

Strange story. So you got the stone after your mother, who fell in love with it, passed away and then it got stolen, but returned by the police who had already dismounted it.. well... stranger things have happened ;-)

My least favorite is April which is diamond. I find clear gems boring and overhyped. I love all colored gems and some of my very favorites are orange and gold. Especially Palmeira and Madeira Citrine. So beautiful 😍

Orange is my fav colour so I'm one of the weirdos who likes Citrine & Topaz for their orangey shades. I also love November so the colour of the stone matches the month pretty well. That being said, my least fav birthstone is my own, diamond. I think it's a cheat for diamond to be a birthstone, it should be a coloured stone, plus diamonds are known as the engagement ring.

Diamond does come with some difficulties as a birthstone. Glad to hear you are one who appreciates the oranges. You should find yourself some of the orange Garnet varieties. Harder to find, but beautiful!

Thank for making these videos I am learning a lot. I do not like the color red so my least favorite stone is Ruby. My favorite is my birthstone Sapphire and I have it several colors. My favorite color of Sapphire is Padparadscha and I found a Tourmaline in that color and have enjoyed wearing it instead.

I am a November birthday, and from the uk so usually think of my birthstone as topaz, rather than citrine. I don’t totally dislike the yellow topaz, but when I chose one for my birthday I chose a London Blue topaz, I assumed this was coloured this way with heat, but I would be interested in a video on if it is possible to know whether any stone has been heat treated or not.

November baby here. I love Topaz. Cannot find it anywhere. They are always trying to sell me Citrine instead. I don't like Citrine. Where can I get a true topaz in the US?

Check your independent jewelers. If they don't have it and you're serious, they can usually source some for you.

Yellow topaz color more intense than citrine

I like more brilliance in yellow stones than what Citrine and Topaz can provide. You get a little more hardness with golden topaz but as you mentioned it easily cleaves. My personal preference is a more lemon yellow in faceted stones like that found with yellow sapphire or a good lab created canary diamond. There is one honey colored gem that I do like and it is milk-&-honey cat's eye chrysoberyl. My least favorite stone is my birthstone, Peridot. Hate the color.
