There's no shame in taking a year off between high school and college to figure out your options. If nothing else, taking the time to get a little experience in the real world with a low-end job will give you a good perspective of why you're spending the time and money at college in the first place.

Absolutely true, i was forced into law school and 5 years later i realised I was more interested in finance and investing. Wish i had taken some time off.

Or even in the middle of college. I did two years, took took years off and then did three years part time. No shame in getting experience if it's going to enhance your education.

Solid answer! It’s more nuanced than yes or no. It depends on you and your inclinations

It's might be more difficult for somebody your age to find a job, considering others in your sector would have most likely had longer work experience. Regardless, Good luck!!

You guys have to remember, not everyone goes to college to pad their resume. Some people actually go to learn things.

You don't need university, the reason is because you can self educate yourself on a certain topic without university (although a bit harder as you have to structure your learning yourself). It's more so for the experience.

if son or grandson of ray dalio. no need to think about life's journey from school to university. see the pattern of life during success with a piece of paper called a certificate. until it's time to take the exam. Some say money is not everything. Money plus smart sense. God's destiny still has to be trusted. Ray dalio what are your plans for your children and grandchildren. if I confirm that we don't live like we used to.

If your life goal is to get a good job then college is must, and if your goal is to make money only [Legally] then you can explore things and try them, if you fail try again. But if your final destination is only to get job but you still want to explore things then first explore things then do college because if you do college first and then explore then you won't be fresh college grad and you will have years of career gap and you won't be companies favourite choice of hire. So yes, I made this mistake and I don't want others to do same mistake. One thing I did right was I invested money in stocks and it went up 700+%. So yes have a budget and invest some money as well.

Let me answer this one... Plain and simple: if you're asking yourself this question - that means you belong to the ones who need college education to succeed... (no joke here)
