We need to keep this conversation going! I am a high school teacher, and I 100 percent agree with you. When I was in high school, school administrators made ALL 11th graders take the ASVAB.

The final part of my argument is that it is indeed possible to achieve success without college or the military, although it may be a more challenging path. Trade schools are often overlooked but offer high-income occupations such as automotive mechanics, welding, electricians, HVAC, and construction, which require less schooling and provide immediate certifications. While I personally chose the path of college and philosophy major, I acknowledge that there may be limited career options outside of academia or law. However, gaining experience and expertise in a specific field will open up more opportunities. I am soon enlisting in the Marines and have completed the necessary steps, including submitting my medical paperwork. I have excelled in physical training and scored a 72 on the ASVAB. It is crucial to thoroughly understand your options and consider the military as a backup plan, ensuring that you meet the qualifications and avoid any choices that could hinder your enlistment. The military is not a place to seek refuge after making poor life decisions; it requires dedication and commitment. Thank you for your time, gentlemen. I appreciate your consideration of my comments and welcome your input. Congratulations on your success in the military, and I wish you all safety and blessings.

It is possible to begin college and complete it at a later time, as long as you pass your classes to earn credits. Starting college at a later age, not necessarily at 18, is also an option to consider. The marine on the right makes valid points, especially regarding the fact that not everyone is suited for college. It is acceptable for individuals to pursue alternative paths. Many students are pushed through the education system, leading to gaps in their knowledge and skills. Critical thinking abilities are often lacking, as individuals tend to rely on information they have been told rather than questioning and forming their own opinions. College requires a strong foundation in education, as professors may not provide explicit guidance on exams. Self-discipline, good study habits, and a deep understanding of the material are essential for success in college.

Even if you get the degree they only looking to hire cream of the crop. Employers asking for college transcripts to see individual letter grades.
