Is Dave The Diver worth It? Watch this review before you buy. In this video I review Dave The Diver in 2024 and tell you if it is worth it. Should you buy / play Dave The Diver in 2023? It is in my opinion one of the best indie games launched in 2023. The game has fantastic visuals, atmosphere and music. With potential for unlimited replayability.
Now there are of course pros and cons to the game. So in this video I give you the facts about Dave The Diver so that you may decide for yourself if this game is for you. But I'd highly recommend buying and playing Dave The Diver in 2023

Please stop calling Dave The Diver (DTD) an indie game. I don't know who started this, but pixel graphics alone don't make a game an indie game. Mintrocket, the studio that created DTD has 30 team members, which makes them a AA studio. On top of that, they are a division of Nexon. Nexons is an $18 billion USD company! The CEO of Mintrocket himself stated that they are not an indie studio. It’s unfair to all the other indie studios to call DTD an indie game. And don't get me wrong, I like DTD, nothing against the game or studio.

This game is fun when you first play it, but after a while it feel like you're working from day to night. It remind me of Moonlighter where you killed monsters at night for their loots and then selling it in the day.

Good review. Very thorough. I shall try to remember Game Grader as a mark of quality reviews, similar to Macs corner WAB but way more formal. Comment for the comment god.

every single aspect in this game is worth entertainment (every single time you play you got something new), your fun struggle at first (catching fish, killing shark and friends, exploration) that can be annoying later will be fixed by upgrading (fun and rewarding), literally once in a while game that you really enjoy to play.

@@GameGraderReviews I've been playing for two days and I feel that I've just scratched the surface... The vibe is sooo chill and relaxing. Honestly, I asked for a refund in Steam for "Big ambitions" to purchase Dave the Diver and I am extremelly happy with it. For me, GOTY.

My problem is that there are SO MANY unneeded mechanics and add-ons that are not needed. Almost as if the devs were like "Look what we can do! We can make so many games in one!" On top of that the game is ridiculously easy from the puzzles to the action sequences / bossfights.

it is just a way to make lose ur time, it is not "fun" it is just here to keep u busy, like a phone app. Just crazy. I played a bit less than 2 hours and i m my way to get my money back

The most important part for me is that this game does not feel like grinding for resources like that exist in any other similar game where you level up and art changes but grinding does not, including games like terraria, minecraft, and others. Instead, when you understand the concept of grind, games let you simply maintain without hardcore grinding.

I like the review, comprehensive, but an 8.5 for possibly the best indie game you ever played? I haven't played the game but from what you described it sounds more than an 8.5.

Its too easy. The restaurant management is just side content where you have to try to fail. The battles are too easy to and it feels like this game was made for children

It's perfect. It's the best game I've played in a few years. So many features, and minigames. The different gameplay loops are fun. Music/audio is fabulous. Visually its crazily charming. Not my kind of game, yet it got me hooked hard.

For me, the whole of the review is spoilt by the fact that you have speeded up your voice recording!...to the degree that it sounds garbled in many parts so why do this?

If you want to make a name for your self as a game critic you at least have to have some industry knowledge. Dave the diver's concept is based on motherload, and another old restaurant game that i can't remember the name of circa 2004. Comparing Dave the diver to terreria is asinine as it's a completely different game genre with the only similarities being it's art style... and even saying that is stretching the truth.

I bought the game on STEAM, played it, and requested a refund. It was not fun for me despite the overwhelming positive reviews. I guess I'm not the target audience for this type of game.

Well over hyped implies it's not that great/fun. Imo it sucks. I played it for 3 hours and was disappointed. So yeah, it matters. The game is definitely over hyped.
