This is a very level-headed take. Carr had a very shaky o-line last year, was beat up because of all the unblocked hits, had a bad and predictable play-caller, and had several key drops from receivers. Carr is a solid QB who is accurate, gets the ball out fast, has a great deep ball, and plays well with play-action. Is he Maholmes or Allen in terms of magical escapability, no. Is he good enough to get the job done, yes. Let’s see what happens this year. I hope he and the Saints can prove the doubters wrong.

Derek Carr will always be best during OTAs, Camp, and Practice when no one can hit him. But the moment guys start hitting him, DC does not look the same.

Let's be honest. The OL sucked ass last year and couldn't protect Carr. That led to him getting injured often. Additionally, there wasn't much production from the tight ends, and lets not forget that his receiving corps was average at best. Not much has changed this year. Until they fix their OL and upgrade their receivers, life will be still be hard for Carr

Dennis Turd in the Punchbowl" Allen is underqualified, overpaid, and position-protected. Allen found a QB who is JUST LIKE HIM--underqualified--and he overpaid and position protected him.
