I was collaborating with my friend concerning Communication Conciousness at that time. I chucked it in after my Bristolian experiences. Regarding Abbots comment about slavery: Whilst it is true that whites were not manacled in slave ships in the transatlantic slave trade let's not pretend white people have not suffered slavery. Are we just going to conveniently ignore the Barbary slave trade? The slavery during the Roman and Greek Empires? Every civilization has benefited from AND perpetrated slavery at some time in their history, it was the British who led the demand to END slavery.

A couple of points; 1/ much as I like Dominique Samuels, the transatlantic slave trade was NOT unique. The problem arises in history, Many black people in the USA are the descendants of slaves that ended up in America against their will, But the black people in the U.K. came here of their own free will, one set of people that did not have a choice are influencing a different set of people that did have a choice.
