www.DrHagmeyer.com Welcome to Dr Hagmeyer's KZfaq Channel.
Your brain is constantly receiving signals from the environment via inputs from your five senses. The brain doesn’t simply receive and process them; it takes four complex systems, called the aminergic systems, to process the information and ensure it goes through the correct channels. One of these systems is known as the histaminergic system, which involves a histamine-mediated process. The role of histamine here is one of homeostasis, or balance. It acts as a modulator of the stimuli received relating to
The sleep-wake cycle
Motivation and goal seeking behaviors
Satiety, feeding behaviors and taste perception
Neurotransmitter regulation
Addictive behaviors
Memory formation
Stress
Pain perception
Those all seem pretty important, don’t they; and with this in mind, you can begin to paint a picture of why an increase in your histamine load affects your brain so profoundly.

Interesting!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I am recovered from MCAS. When I was in it, I could not enjoy anything, even the things I used to love the most. Music was a HUGE part of my life and I got to the point that I couldn’t listen to it, I would get filled with rage listening to what used to give me so much joy. That lasted for about a year and slowly lifted. I also inexplicably gained weight and was very puffy, even though I eat a paleo diet and I don’t eat that much. I am much improved now, but it was a long, miserable journey.

I've had insulin-blood sugar-hormonal-metabolic-immune problems since I was a kid and that's what triggered MCAS for me. She laughed at me and said there is no such thing, it was a word bandied about back in the 80s and said i had no allergies. I said i know i have no allergies, its an intolerance , but she just went on saying she would prove i have no allergies and that its a heart problem , i should be with a cardiologist not immunologist.

@@vallang4832 very true but ingested foods have more to do with histamine and DAO enzyme in gut, for histamine issues in brain we’re talking about HNMT enzyme. I’ve had an intense allergy season with this hectically blocked nose and itchy mouth/face/eyes for the last month and the allergy tablets weren’t working so yesterday I went to my doc for an allergy shot. So it’s something like cortisol steroids or something and lasts like 3 or 4 months. I used to have it often when I was a student because I was allergic to some grass or dust mite in my student town. Anyway I’ve always found that the day or two after the allergy shot I feel amazing. Like sluggish cognitive tempo and ADHD (AuDHD?) symptoms improve loads. Like sure it maybe keeps me awake a bit on the first night ruminating about exciting projects (I usually sleep like a baby even with mouth breathing). Hells I went for a walk and even my v02 max on my watch is 2 points higher. So yeah I’ve always figured there’s some link between allergies and cognition. Thanks for the vid!

If so where can i get HNMT and MAOB enzyme that you mention in the video and is there a supplement that contain all 3 of them, DAO, HNMT and MAOB ? Or should i try DAO enzyme first that taget the histamin in the gut and see if that reduce my insomnia?
@DrRichardHagmeyer
@DrRichardHagmeyer 18 күн бұрын
Nutrient cofactors for HNMT include lcopper, iron, B vitamins, vitamin C, SAMe, magnesium, manganese, cobalt, zinc, and molybdenum. These are all needed as cofactors to allow MAO-A and MAO-B DAO abd HNMTto work. I would also recommend following low Histamine diet for 3 months to see if symptoms improve, then work on all things “filling up the bucket!”

I had been doing keto/carnivore and was only eating beef, a can of sardines each day, avocado, and strawberries for my vitamin C. I ended up with histamine intolerance! The worst part was that for the past two years I’ve been going to a gastroenterologist and they kept telling me I had acid reflux and I had no other symptoms except for a sore throat, and it wasn’t until I found another gastroenterologist online that mentioned my daily headaches, sore throat, constant bloating, stuffy nose, etc. can all be from a histamine intolerance. That’s when I began my own research and found out that beef is high, sardines are some of the highest form of histamine and so are strawberries and avocado. I’m now working to eat a low histamine diet and hopefully this will go away.

My odor causes others to have allergic symptoms like sneezing, coughing, and runny noses. Could this be related to the release of excessive histamine from my skin? I also have lesions in my brain, so I’m wondering if there might be a connection.

Last week I was sitting with my little brother and I was drinking a sprite and I started to feel a pop in my forehead that caused all these symptoms including a bit of memory loss and mental clarity and I’m so scared rn because I don’t want to have something like dementia or any other type of brain disease. I haven’t been acting like myself and it has been like 10 days since and I’ll be seeing a doctor next Wednesday to see what I have. I just want to know what should I do to fix all this so in the future this never happens again in my life

I have Type 1 Narcolepsy and have been prescribed Pitolisant for the past 3 months. I still don't understand if the drug raises histamine levels or merely makes the brain more receptive to existing levels. I am anxious about the possible long-term effects of raised histamine. I feel like a Guinea pig. I had terrible bouts of HSP vasculitus in the past and am long-term depressed. I also read it may increase chance of developing Parkinson's which my Grandpa died with. Very nervous.

Testing for “histamine intolerance in brain” cant be done as far as I know. It’s also very difficult to test in blood. The most accepted way is through a questionnaire and through clinical symptoms presentation of the patient. There are tests available but for most part researchers have found that they are not very accurate and don’t correlate well. Treatment for histamine intolerance is a challenge and is discussed in some of my other videos.

Does histamine intolerance produce excess mucous?

@@DrRichardHagmeyer yes definitely, I have a severe sinus problem on the left side of my head, eating the wrong foods , dairy products especially cheese, chocolate to much coffee,( better to drink decaf) there are many others, cause excess mucus. Eating the right food definitely helps to keep mucus under control. Also drinking water helps rather than tea and coffee. There is a little ball of nerves that control the flow of mucus into your sinuses, It can become over active for some reason causing excess mucus. The nerves can some times be damaged by an accident to the front of your head cusing excess mucus production. It can be a difficult problem to cure and manage. Doctors wil do there best to help you but it can be trial and error before you find the best way to manage it. But do not give up keep trying to find a solution.

I was diagnosed with HI 4 years ago, I can keep it under control more or less but lately I am having issues with my eyes. I had Covid and since then my eyes are sore. My vision is fine but I feel like my eyes are either strained or are hard to focus. I am planning to go to the eye doctor of course but she does not consider what histamine intolerance can do to you. I have a question- could my eye irritation be because of raised histamines? I have other symptoms as well but eyes are my biggest concern

Oh so much INFORMATION. Useful...yeah, if you synthesize it with other types of information that is then applied to a physiological homeostatic modeling of optimal functioning. What's easier? Get some homeostatic, i.e. balancing, cannabinoids into your cells. That is, smoke, eat or vape some cannabis, otherwise known as marijuana. Balances everything out...your hormones, histamine, neurotransmitters, etc.
@DrRichardHagmeyer
@DrRichardHagmeyer 18 күн бұрын
The problem with that approach is that it’s a shotgun approach- cannabinoids influence everything and then depending on how it’s being delivered (smoked, eaten) I don’t ever recommend vape, gummies etc will influences how it hits brain- then we have The “type” Sativa, Indica, Hybrid which also has a completely different set and ratio of cannabinoids- cannabis is amazing but we don’t know much about it.

Nope, it sure doesn't. It's known to cause many problems, normal marijuana that is. Causes issues in neurotransmitters actually, has mold and heavy metals according to testing, can cause issues in circulation when smoked or even vaped, DNA damage, and more. Purified CBD, CBG, CBC etc can be helpful for some conditions though.
