The Ghoul on repeated viewings, knowing how awesome he actually is, seems to be teaching them how to survive. He’s a dad through and through. Like, he could have dropped Max but he knew how green Max was. Or Lucy and the water. I loved how they wrote his character.

My running theory is despite vault-tec planning to drop the bomb the peace talks failed anyways and bombs started dropping. This explains why Cooper would have his kid with him despite his wife knowing the planned date. Thus she sent vault-tec security to pick up her kid overpowering him and taking her so he doesn't know her actual location. This also helps maintain House's preparations since as a part of the conglomerate meeting he would also know the date and would have actually had the platinum chip ready as opposed to a day or so late.

My personal theories are 1. The legion will be prominent in season 2. I base this on the reality that in the games the brotherhood uses Latin phrases and Roman style rankings. In the show they don’t really do that. To me that is the show altering it so they can bring in the legion for season 2 and not confuse nongaming fans with multiple factions having Roman influence. 2. I believe they’re hiding the enclave armour for 2 reasons. One it will be a hell of a reveal when it comes. And secondly it prevents non game fans from getting confused between who’s who when it comes to the brotherhood and enclave. 3. I believe the reason cooper only mentions his family at the end is because that will be the quest of the second season, and each season like each game has its own specific quest. With sometimes side quests being connected to other games. Lucy’s dad being a side quest in season 2. 3. I’m 100% certain that super mutants will be around in season 2. I believe the enclave will be using them like frank horrigan. Which maybe how they bring in the enclave power armour. 4. Thadius is definitely gonna be a mutant. He’s 100% given the FEV.

When the ghoul tells Lucy 'I'm you just give it a little time' I took that to mean "You will become just as jaded and depraved as me trying to eek out an existence up here" more so than "you will become a ghoul."

The Minutemen ending in Fallout 4 can also result in the Prydwen and Elder Maxon surviving. The quest to lead the Minutemen into destroying the Brotherhood is entirely optional, and only triggered if you become hostile with the BoS after the ending of the main quest. So the Minutemen ending could also be the canon ending for Fallout 4.

24:22 Well, in episode (2? I believe? I forget easy.) we see the doctor in the enclave base with his doggo (forgot their names too, something doctor and x404 or smth), we can see that soldiers roll a table past the doctor, and we zoom in to see a big green hand sticking out from underneath the tarp, which is, what I can only assume to be, a super mutant hand, so we may see one S2!

Lucy= first play through Cooper= 100th play through Maximus= that one play through we all did giving character low int to see the dialog options. I also thought Cooper's gun was like the quarter gun from resident evil after life. Edit: I think the medicine that the ghouls take is because of FEV. The Enclave was messing with it trying to introduce it to project purity and was stopped by the lone wanderer. But we also know that the institute was messing with it too. Maybe someone fucked around and made some FEV turning wastelanders to ghouls, and Ghouls to Farel ghouls. Medicine was developed to stop it.

Probably someone wrote it already, but the Chicken Fricker's serum is the same drug that turned Hancock into a Ghoul, probably just watered down.

One thing that annoys me so much is how Maximus just keeps sort off failing upwards. He should not have risen so high in the ranks with all the mistakes he did. He got a brotherhood knight killed , used his power armour , impersonated to be that knight on the comms , got ANOTHER scribe's leg crushed and that scribe has never returned to the BoS so they might as well consider him MIA or KIA. By the end of the attack at the observatory his reward for leading them there should've been that he wont get killed for his fuck ups , not getting promoted to a Knight.

According to some rumors Deathclaws were going to be practical suits like the Power Armor, but the showrunner didnt want to show them immediately because he wanted to make the deathclaws look and feel menacing but didnt have the time. Could be bs, could be true, who knows. Also in regards to Cooper telling Lucy "Im you, just give it a little time." I believe he meant 'Im a hardened survivor, you will be too.'

what makes the ghouls gun so powerfull is the ammo not the gun, if you see his ammo belt you will notice that he has diffrent colourd bullets to show the diffrent kinds of rounds ...

13:41 its wadcutter style ammo. Basically a hollow point round designed to open like a flower on hit instead of fragmenting, which means it imparts most of its force when inside and since the rounds are generally stronger ough for punch through they take a sizable chunk with them.

I don't think that they confirmed that Vault Tec dropped the bomb, at best we got that they were open to doing so.

Why does everyone forget the ghoul doctor in Fallout 3? Dr Barrows is in the medical area called The Chop Shop in The Underworld. He was taking care of Riley from Riley's Rangers. He had been studying ghoulification since before the games events, which was 20 years before the show. He had feral ghouls in quarantine and said he was hoping to find a cure. So it's logical that he found some kind of serum in the last 20yrs to prevent some from going feral. That said, if you watch The Ghoul, he hacks a lot and shows signs of being a drug addict outside the Super Duper Mart. Maybe the serum uses Jet or something else as a base or delivery system.

re FO4 ending: there is actually and ending where you can blow up the institute without eliminating the Brotherhood, Minute Men, or Railroad.

There might also be a certain drug that turns you into a drug, Hancock in Fallout 4 mentions it in his backstory.

The Minutemen Ending in Fallout 4 has the potential to end with all factions except for the Institute surviving- The Sole Survivor can end the game with the Railroad, Brotherhood of Steel, and the Minutemen intact without any conflict between the 3 factions, the Brotherhood of Steel just gets salty because the Minutemen get the credit for destroying the Institute. So it's possible that the show is hinting that the cannon ending is an ending where the Minutemen destroy the Institute with the help of the Sole Survivor and the Brotherhood leaves the East Coast in the hands of the people of the Commonwealth (The Minutemen lead by the Sole Survivor). There's more than just one ending to Fallout 4 that the show can pick from. Honestly, I always saw The Minutemen ending where the rest of the factions survive as being the cannon ending because it makes the most sense. As much as I love lighting that metal eyesore of an airship up with Minutemen fire power, I know that Bethesda would never let their precious Brotherhood of Steel get wiped out like that so I've only done it once with a save scum just because I think the peaceful ending is the best outcome (and I don't want to have to kill Scribe Haylen).

My biggest gripe would have to be them not actually shooting energy weapons like they showed a couple but I didn’t see any plasma balls or laser beams anywhere. The brotherhood of steel had a bunch of lead thrower guns, which was just kind of weird

With the cryo pods in the tops it seems pretty likely that the broken elevators in the casino lead to suites/shelters that have these pods

I don't know how much the Brotherhood actually respects each other. For instance in New Vegas, several knights in power armor tried to murder a little female scribe just cause she talked up to an Elder.

charisma is more than just appearance. It is presence and you can't deny that the ghoul has in spades is presence. He just doesn't use it to be diplomatic. And he does get away with things others would get way more trouble for. Granted not many seem able to stop regardless lmao.

the ghoul's pistol is a revolver shotgun pistol which is a real gun, they essentially just took the original and sawed the barrel down to the size of a handgun and sawed the stock off or put on a wooden grip that doesn't have a stock (look up MTs255 for reference). looks like he shoots explosive slugs out of it.

I mostly agree with your assessment of the series. There was one comment you made about the grulification of characters. Just to remind you that Hancock from fallout 4 turned himself into a ghoul. Also when Cooper told Lucy " You're me, just give it a little bit of time" I don't think in any way shape or form. He meant that she was going to turn into a ghoul. I think he meant "I'm a killer and a survivor and you will be too"

The Ghoul seems to use a cutdown MTs255 .410 Revolver shotgun as his pistol. Shotgun shells come in a very high variety and can be modified pretty easily with the right knowledge. Cooper being a prewar Military Ghoul probably uses modified high explosive .410 shells to cause holes like he does. I can’t explain those crazy mandoknockoff homing rounds he has but they are pretty dang cool.

There was a SuperMutant body on a stretcher at the Enclave when the scientist is escaping with Dogmeat. You only see its arm.

I feel like the ghoul serum isnt for every ghoul in the wasteland. I think its just for ghouls that have been exposed with too much radiation that they will turn feral soon. For example, Cooper is always a wandering bounty hunter that go from place to place so naturally he'd be exposed to more radiation than other ghouls that are settling like in the NCR administration in the last episode which i dont think need any of those special vial. It explains how cooper seems to heal quickly from bullet wounds bcs well, he absorbs radiation to heal just like feral ghouls in the games. And to counteract the feral-ification, ghouls like Coop has to drink those vials

One theory I have for the ghoul’s pistol is that it operates like the gyro jet which is a real pistol that shot rockets instead of bullets.

If you pay attention when they do the slow Mo shot of the ghoul shooting someone it’s actually a miniature mini nuke

I think they're basing The Ghoul's charisma on the fact that he was a famous actor before the war. (Edit: It was pointed out that it's not the actual Vault Tech logo on the bomb in Megaton, it just looks very similar but is slightly different).

In a interview the show head writer were very precise about the Vault Tec dropped the bombs thingy, Vault Tec planned to drop we don't know if they did.

The Ghoul's pistol looks to be some sort of gyrojet. Look closely at the actual round once it's left the barrel towards the target.

The geiger counter did not pick him up because he was wearing the standard issue suit which protects you from rads. So the rads being covered by the suit wouldn't set it off until he was undressed.

My assumption with the lack of laser weapons is that they didn't want things to get TOO sci-fi too fast. Introducing laser weapons without some buildup for the audience would make a non-Fallout fan confused why suddenly things have turned into Star Wars. We'll probably get a proper introduction to them with the Brotherhood next season. Y'know, like Maximus trying one out in a firing range. From there, they'll start popping up everywhere.

Love your video! The ghouls four shot sawed off rifle appears to be a shotgun that has slugs (possibly rocket propelled?) loaded instead of buckshot. The old lady types in coordinates to show Lucy where to take the dude with the dog and the power chip thing to moldaver, when she did that that explains how we’ve gotten every quest marker ever. When she stuck the tracker in the heads nose that explains how we are able to place custom markers on the map. Also in the minutemen ending it is NOT required for you to kill the railroad or brotherhood unless you pissed them off yourself during your playthrough.

My biggest problem with the plot is Moldaver. Why would she attack the vault with Raiders if she was an NCR leader? Doesn't make sense

The Ghoul's charisma stat is probably raised by his pre-war past as an actor/ celebrity.

The ghoul’s pistol fires what looks like explosive rounds. It looks like it’s on a timer tho because it enters someone’s body, then explodes, rather than exploding on impact. So essentially he has an explosive .44 with a .50 chamber mod

if you listen to the background of the some scenes ( one scene is when Dr. Wilzig is at the yao guai cave) you can actually hear the sound of a super mutant hound. It happens a few times throughout the show! I was sad we didn't get to see super mutants but it is a nice reference letting us know like " oh they around" yk

22:22 they kinda did a fatman VATS kill when the ghoul started using that special ammo (the ammo the actor fumbles around w/ because its too big to actually be loaded) The bullet had the flanges of a mini-nuke just a fun little thing I noticed

It seemed like The Ghoul had 2 firearms, a pistol and a lever action, its possible they used the same round and he definitely had cartridges on his rig, but there are also cartridges that that have pellets in them much like a shot gun shell. It is also worth noting that the rounds visible on his rig had different types of rounds on the end, and it looked like one of them has a cylinder which would make it easier to pick which round you wanted to fire after they have been loaded. Those rounds are also massive like a .458 socom or .50 beowulf. Hope this helps.

I loved the TV show! I thought it’d suck based off of their early released scene, but I was pleasantly surprised! My jaw was on the floor during the….meeting…towards the end, I didn’t think they’d just give it to us like that after all this time 😂

I honestly believe the ghoul custom made that pistol from a revolver style shotgun and sawed it down and made custom 12g shells look on KZfaq how easy it is to put anything into a 12g shell and can fire only interesting thing is his explosive ammo looked like tiny mini nukes with the fins and everything but it’s definitely a 12g with custom shells.

The ghoul's gun can be used in fallout 4 with the MTs-255 mod. He uses an MTS-255 revolver shotgun modified with a short barrel and pistol grip. He switches between explosive and armor piercing slugs.

I think the Geiger counter was off at first because they literally would have never needed it in their lives at that point, and then was constantly on at least for Lucy because it saved her life. Or at least that's my headcanon.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but in New Vegas the vault on the Strip was filled partially in with concrete by Mr House. My theory is that something is going on with that. Why would he fill it in with concrete for no reason? There has to be some kind of underlying motive to it. If he made an agreement with vault-tec in some way, perhaps he was trying to mitigate their ability to actually do anything on their end by closing off the vault that they had access to. I think Hank is going to try and get into that vault. No clue what they're going to do with it though. I also really like the theory that's been going around that basically says that the Ghoul serum is just a placebo, and that all of the ghouls on the west coast are being duped. Then again there's also Oswald in Kiddie Kingdom. Assuming the positive ending for him, he goes into the wasteland to try and continued his wife's work for a serum to help ghouls, ideally to turn them back into humans, but keeping them from going feral is possible too.

the info we have on the fall of shady sands comes from a classroom. it can be speculated that this 'fall' is an ideological one, possible pertaining to the first battle of hoover dam signifying an over-extension of the ncr resources that led to the eventual demise of shady sands due to a lack of resources to protect it from attack.

@24:30 - at the Enclave remnant facility they do tease a Supermutant under one of the gurneys, it's when the scientist takes the dog away from getting chipped and carries the dog to his quarters!

I think the Ghoul's Charisma is high because he was an actor Also I saw Coop telling Lucy that she was him given long enough as more of eventually she'd become as jaded as he is. Also in FO4 Nuka World, Oswald the Magician can go searching for a cure for Ferals.

I 'liked' how all the vault dwellers knew what raiders were but didn't know the surface was survivable.

The Ghoul's gun looks like it works like the real like Gyrojet gun. The ammunition is rocket propelled and has an small explosive in the tip. The rocket propulsion eliminates most of the recoil you would see with massive projectiles fired by a traditional gun.

I would say vault tech did not confirm to drop the bomb, all it actually did is show they wanted to. They could very well been planning to drop them then someone else beat them to it.

26:42 I’d like to point out that Dragon Breaks aren’t the timelines forking off and doing their own thing like Fallout is an alternate timeline. A Dragon Break eventually converges again into a single timeline. So lets say a Dragon Break occurs, in one timeline Paarthurnax is killed, and in the other he isn’t. Once the Dragon Break converges, Paarthurnax will end up dead in both of the now merged timelines. Its funky but thats how that works.

I think thaddeus drank raw FEV not ghoul juice. Just my guess because being a ghoul doesnt mean you can survive a neck shot but FEV will rapidly heal before continuing and mutating you like the master

There was a deathclaw under a sheet on a gurney at the enclave base when they introduce dogmeat

the ghouls gun fires little fat "tiny nuke" bullets that even say "boom" on them, they pack a big punch and then explode afterwards, you can see it shoot through people and explode behind them or when it impacts a leg and explodes a second or so later. later on in the show he switches to his short rifle and uses a weird drill bullet with that, probably some kind of armor piercing.

During the scene in which Roger the Ghoul gets his head ventilated, Cooper takes special interest in Lucy's surname. I think that dredged up renewed hope in him that someone might actually know what happened to his family, or at least could point him to where that information might be found.

Maximus is the All-Luck-no-Int Char. Lucy is the Charisma-based Jack of all trades - the basic Char everyone starts with and then struggles with as the Char is basically useless. The Ghoul is a full Combat-Oriented Char that misses a lot of Stuff and Story due to lack of Support Abilities - no Repairs, no Techknow, no Speechcraft and no Charisma even before the Bombs.

Loved your breakdown. Hear me out on a couple of things. 1 since there isn't a set cannon on how to become a ghoul, some from the bomb drop or FO76's nuclear incident, others like Hancock from FO4, or even the Kiddy Kingdom ghouls that Oswald lead who turned slowly after rad storms, that its not just genetics but multiple factors, but some form of FEV or a derivative is involved. For Thadius, he probably took the same drug Hancock did, fixed his wounds, probably because of a small amount of FEV, maybe a micing if whatever the stimpack has. Hope they explain it more, or they might leave it open-ended like most things goul related. 2 the anti-feral meds looked suspiciously like the rad-away that maximus gives lucy. It's been stated several times in games that the brain can die, but the body won't. At least, that's what I understand about it and it makes sense, FEV super mutants that have high radiation levels or damage are dumb as rocks, but a rare few Super Mutants, and the master, were highly intelligent because they too a high doses with little to no radiation damage. But most of the smart Super Mutants have damaged memories from the change. So if a ghoul gets rad exposure and FEV combination, then more radiation exposure over time can degrade or kill the brain, along with the excess rads in their system. This means the cure for them becoming feral is rad away, a pre-war drug that can be manufactured, but once they go feral thats it. The brain is dead even when you take the rads away and the brain can heal, all they have left is instincts.
