Not only that he blocks but the physicality he brings. He's like a mini Gronk that'll just smash thru DBs and carry 5 guys around for extra yards. Kelce is the best receiving TE tho but Kittle brings that very physical brand of football. Even Kelce doesn't smash thru a swarm of DBs like that.

Yup. The way people think about tight ends now is basically a big slot receiver. Everyone wants counting stats and thinks that’s what’s important. Although it’s a great impact being able to rack up receiving yards, but so is being able to drive off a defensive end and catch the ball.

Travis is right though. It's all about the offense. Shanny is basically running his dads offense. Blocking in the run game is top priority for TE. It works great when you have all the players to make it work, but it can backfire big without quality depth in key spots. It remains to be seen if Purdy can pull it off though. I think he might have last year if he didn't get injured in the playoffs. Now with more film on him, it'll be harder for him.
